I went to see Meridian At Lantana. The place was very, very nice. It's redone. They give you three meals a day. They have one or two bedrooms that overlook the courtyard, which is nice. The dining room and the library and things like that were very, very nice. They have studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms, and they have a restaurant. I like that it's restaurant-style service. They have personal laundry and housekeeping services. They have two-bedroom apartments with very nice balconies with sliding doors. They have 24-hour staff onsite and it also includes maintenance. There are a lot of things that I like. I'm going to look at a few others but I want to go back there and have one more look.
They have a refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave in the units. They have housekeeping service once a week, they change your linens and the garbage is picked up daily. It's very nice. They have transportation to wherever you need to go like for shopping or doctor's appointments. The staff who took me around was Shanna. She was very friendly, very knowledgeable, very nice, and easy to talk to. She's very patient with all the people. Overall, I was very satisfied with what I saw and how I was treated. I liked it. I have not tried their food. But the layout of the place was nice, especially the one that I was looking for. The bedrooms are so spacious, and they have two baths. It is very recommendable. Everything is nice and quiet. They have a lot of things if you want to play cards or something, which I'm not interested in. I'm quieter and I stay home. What is also very important to me is that they are pet friendly. They have a pet deposit one-time fee. You can take your little dog or your cat with you or whatever.

I toured Meridian At Lantana. A person can switch from independent living to assisted living and not have to change apartments. It looked like everyone was there on their own. Some people were eating their lunch. They discussed the activities that they have and we saw their activity room. They had a room for card games and board games. My interaction with the staff wasn't as welcoming compared to the other places. Their rooms were adequate for a 1-bedroom. We didn't see a 2-bedroom apartment. The place itself was impeccable and beautiful, but it was not as warm and welcoming. I guess it was the way that they presented themselves, it was not caring. They were not that interested. Overall, the tour experience was cold.

We went to see Meridian at Lantana. I know the area and I knew in my mind that it's not a great area. The facility has just been entirely redone, they combine assisted and independent. The renovations are beautiful, but it's very sterile. They did it all in gray, just like a jail, but the area is not a great area. I wouldn't want my father shopping there with the little van. I don't love the area. The apartment was small, it didn't have a screened-in patio, but it's lovely, and they did a beautiful job with the renovations. Where everybody gathers in the front or outside area, they didn't redo that, it was kinda old. We had lunch there, it wasn't bad. If somebody wants independent living, and they need assisted, they wouldn't have to move apartments. The independent and assisted levels are somewhat together, but they have their own dining room for assisted living. Their activities are done together, but there's about 150 independent residents, which is a perfect size for my father. It's pristine, it's impeccable, but the price proves that it's not cheap.

I moved into Meridian at Lantana 3 weeks ago. I think it's neat and it's clean. The staff is pretty good. You know in those places, you get some residents that are okay and some that are not just how it is, but overall, it's not bad.
I'm in independent living. They offer 3 meals a day. They offer transportation to the supermarket twice a week, and the doctor's appointments and stuff like that. All you gotta do is go to the front desk and sign a book and let the receptionist know what you have to do and they will take care of it.
They offer activities for seniors, not for somebody as young as me, but older folks. If you're a veteran, they give you a discount.
For a studio, what I have is pretty large. It's got a balcony, a kitchenette, a large bedroom, a handicapped-accessible bathroom, obviously, and it's $2800 a month. They clean your room once a week. They do your laundry once a week. If you're a friendly person, you should go ask the front desk, they'll help you with whatever you need, all you gotta do is ask.

I toured Meridian at Lantana for my wife, and it was very nice. My issue is we're both sixty-nine, and I felt like I would be a bull in a china shop. The thing that I didn't like, and it's nothing personal against them, is you have an apartment, but you aren't allowed to have a stove, a hot plate, or even a toaster oven. I don't have Alzheimer's or anything, and I am capable of using a stove so far, but who knows what will happen down the road. I understand why they would do that, but that was one of the things that totally turned me off to the place. The whole place was nice, and I'm sure it was for the right people. The person who assisted us was very hospitable and very nice. To me, the smallest room was very small; it was maybe 600 square feet. Then she showed us a bigger one, and that would have been adequate. The place was very nice, very clean, and very livable. Our house was 3000 square feet, so to jump down to a little 600-square-foot room without a stove would have been rough, and I just couldn't do it. They don't allow a stove, but you have a little refrigerator and a microwave. I understand that your meals were in the cafeteria. I didn't go into the dining area; I just looked through the window and it was nice. There were activities, but because of COVID it was extremely limited. They had a pool and a big area where you could sit outside, so I'm sure they had a lot of different things. I did notice it was extremely limited, and I understand it was because of COVID, so I never really looked into it that closely. For me personally, because they have no stove, you're not really independent. You're really dependent on their dining area, and you have to eat when they're serving each meal -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I didn't eat there, but they gave me a big chocolate-chip cookie just for coming, and they were very good; they're like super excellent. I have a feeling the food was probably very good there.

Meridian at Lantana was very old. The tour was bad. I did not care for it at all. We saw the whole place. It was just one big old facility. The apartments and the rooms are very old. Everything is included. They have housekeeping (and they change the linens), cable, and three meals a day. It was just not what we were looking for.

I'm definitely going into Meridian at Lantana independent living. I was able to visit, and I liked everything about it. They were doing some renovations on the rooms and the pool area. I was able to get a good look at everything, and it's very homey. It looked nice and clean. It wasn't too big, and I didn't want a large place. I was very satisfied with the staff and the people I talked to, so I'm set: this is where I'm definitely going.
Because of COVID, their dining area is limited just to residents, so they made me a lovely lunch to-go when I left, and they have a very good chef.
When I was there, people were sitting, talking, and walking. They have a lovely courtyard where they could walk around. They also have a lot of activities that are available.
The layout of the facility is exactly what I want; I liked that very much. I didn't see all the rooms and everything, but it looked generally clean overall. That's why I decided I'm going there.

I like Meridian at Lantana very much. I saw both assisted living and independent. I was very impressed with it. It's smaller, it's not one of those huge places, but it's very nice. I like the location. I like everything. I like the fact that it's homey and cozy, and not big and impersonal. I like the people there that I met. They're doing major renovations on the rooms, the courtyard, and the pool, and it looks like it's gonna be really beautiful. I didn't see a whole lot of the staff, and with the virus, they're having to cut back on some things. I had lunch at that time, and they had a very good chef.

My mother-in-law was in Meridian At Lantana before, and I visited her there quite frequently. I toured that facility before the pandemic, and I just think a smaller community is more beneficial for her. It was a very large facility. We didn't have any problems with any of the staff members there; they were always very helpful. There was one nurse that worked there that for whatever reason didn't like my mother-in-law, and so we got some calls frequently saying that we needed to come down, which was a four-hour, one-way trip for us to get there, and when we would get there there would be nothing wrong. It was an older facility, they did their best to maintain it the best they could, but her room was a lot smaller than where she is now. She did have a porch, but it wasn't screened-in. If you're familiar with Florida, we have a lot of mosquitos, we have a lot of bugs, so you really need to have a screened-in porch.

Lived here 2 and 1/2 years. I enjoy it here and have a lot of fun, and I don't even like old people. I don't have any complaints. Everything is great!
