I toured Brookdale West Boynton Beach for my sister-in-law. We weren't certain which care she would need at the time; she was pretty in need of assistance. It could have been assisted going back into independent care. It was a great experience, especially with the staff that gave me the tour. He was very thorough about how this should be approached and the ins and outs of the care and the facility. It was just a very thorough review that he gave me of what I could expect in the different levels of assisted living and moving back into independent care if that time came. He showed me the different apartments, which are quite impressive, and toured through the recreational facilities and the amenities that they had. I saw the individuals there, happy individuals, and they seemed to be very content and friendly and okay.
There are doctors and nurses on staff that would come in, and they have a gym room, and an activity list, which was quite impressive that they would offer. From an assisted living standpoint, he talked about the price for the assisted part of it, if she needed help with dressing and care, and assistance in going down to the dining room area or having food brought up. And what was involved with hurricanes, and if that time came what provisions that they would furnish.

Brookdale West Boynton Beach was a nice place. But this was a little bit too small of what I was looking for at the time. The only available thing was a studio. I saw a couple of people, and they were going to have lunch. I was in the dining room area. It was extremely clean and spacious. The young lady who showed me around was professional and patient. She was awesome. They did have a beauty salon where you can get your hair done. I thought that was an awesome idea. I saw a pool area that was nice if you want to go swimming. When I went in, I felt safe there. The parking area was good.

Brookdale West Boynton Beach is a nice place. They have a lot of food choices, and they have independent living. The care is very good, and they are very helpful. The staff was very helpful. They have a swimming pool, and it looked like the activities are for seniors.

I did not care for Brookdale West Boynton Beach at all. I was not crazy about it. The staff is very friendly. They have everything, but it was just not what I was looking for. It was not modern enough and was pretty old. The staff said it was like 26 years old. The rooms looked fair, nothing great but everything was very clean. People do whatever they want. They play cards, play games, or watch television or movies. They have the same amenities as other places I saw.

Brookdale West Boynton Beach was a very nice community. We just walked in ourselves and the staff just happened to quickly show us a room. It looked like the place was nice and the people were also nice. We didn't have a scheduled visit, but the room that we saw was very nice.

Brookdale was terrible. We really did not care for that. It was really old, and it smelled old. The rooms were not nice at all. They had some terrible staff in there. The food was terrible. Tthe waiters and the waitresses could have been a little bit friendlier and nicer. They were not nice at all. They were kind of rude. You would ask them one thing, and they would bring you another.

We were looking at Boynton Beach apartments in the independent living facility. The bathroom was not off of the master bedroom; it was near the front door. The way it was laid out was not good. It looked like they have a wonderful activity director. She seemed to be lively, caring, and had a lot of good ideas, but all the things that were listed didn’t all happen. I don’t think their dining room service was very good. I got the feeling they were skimpy with the food.

It was an attractive and clean place. The rooms were appealing and neat. The staff were really amiable. The residents were happy there. They had a good program.
