We are in Diamond Oaks Village Bonita Springs. The apartment is beautiful. It's a 2-bedroom apartment. It has lots of storage, and the kitchen is all updated. It's all very, very nice. They were just sold, so they're going under completely new management. At this point, we don't know exactly what's going to happen.
It's a 55+ community. They offer a lot, but I'm 82 and my husband is 90. They have activities like bingo, exercise, and stuff like that. There's a lot of people here who are still working, and so that's a little bit of a different atmosphere for us. You kind of have to be forward and find people yourself to play cards and things like that. It's not as structured as what we are looking for.
The management that was here was fantastic, and we all enjoyed them. We don't know how it's going to be with the new one, so we want to look around. There are little things that, naturally, everybody complains about. So far, it's been fine for us. There's just been a turnover, so it's a little bit different.
Breakfast is free, so to speak, because rent pays for it. They have a regular breakfast, and they cook pretty much what you want. It's not a full menu, but it's good. Three days a week, they have dinners which you pay for. They're very good. They have white tablecloths and really do a wonderful job of that. They have a bistro that's open every day; I think, just for lunch. They're fine, too.
They just changed management as of last Friday, so it's been kind of a mess for a few days. I'm sure they'll get it turned around, but we don't really know what's coming until the new management gets in. It'll be different, naturally. We don't know what their plan is, so we're kind of in limbo right now as far as that goes.

We're going to Diamond Oaks Village. It's beautiful. We went over and investigated and we liked everything about it. There's a lady leaving and they go in and clean it all up and repaint if they have to. It even has a little screened-in lanai. The staff has been so sweet and given us tips already on the best way to get there instead of driving on 41 and things like that. They didn't have to do that for us. We could have found our own way, but they told us all about these shortcuts and it was nice.
The unit that we're going to be in has a lovely kitchen, a nice bedroom, a big bathroom, way too big, and the living room looks adequate. I don't think we're going to have any complaints. We're living in a two-room house and there's a great room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a walk-in closet, just about the same thing that we're going to have here. When we looked at a unit there, they were cleaning up after somebody else was leaving and my God, I don't think I ever saw anybody clean anything like that. It was pretty good. I sure hope we're alright when we get there.
They showed us everything. It's beautiful. The dining area was big and pretty. The facility was gorgeous, the flowers, the landscaping. We haven't seen anything out of line just walking through. They even have a unit that if you're lucky enough and nobody's there, you can have your kids stay there. They have a hairdresser, an exercise room, a theater, a beautiful pool with chairs all around it, and two grills if you want to do a grill outside. They clean the grill for you and they clean it after, so you don't have to. I can't imagine that, but by the time we get up to the unit, it would be cold anyway, so we got a little teeny one and the staff said we can use it on the lanai. We are looking forward to it.
The staff has been right there for us. Every time we call and have a question or anything, they're right there. It's brand new, so nothing can go wrong. I saw a lady on a bike and another lady was walking and next thing you know, she stopped the bike and she started walking and they were gabbing away like they were old friends. It looks like a real nice place. We went around the pool and one guy was in the hot tub. Everything was beautiful in there. They've got nice furniture at the pool and they've got umbrellas. Everybody's very friendly.

Diamond Oaks Village was very clean and updated. The people who live there were all hanging out. It looked very accommodating, and the people looked happy there. I thought the pricing was perfect. Their accommodations and amenities were amazing. They had a nice pool area, lounge areas, game areas, and a movie theater. If we were able to, that's the place I would choose for my grandmother. The leasing agent was amazing and truthful with me. I really appreciated that place. The room was spacious, and the kitchen was updated. It had a balcony with a nice view, and it was very clean. It was like an apartment. They had a café, a dining hall, accessible parking, covered walkways, and transportation. They had a lot of activities like water aerobics and fitness. I really enjoyed the place.

I was accommodated very well at Diamond Oaks Village. It's a very pretty and clean place, but it seemed empty and oddly quiet. The person who gave me the tour was very good. You could eat there if you wanted to, but it's not included. They had a pool and a workout room.
