About This Community

From our spacious, graciously appointed apartments and independent living villas, you will enjoy views of our landscaped property filled with greenery. Our exquisite courtyards will inspire all the beauty the outdoors has to offer and provide an opportunity to bring peace and calmness to your day.

As a vital component of what we offer, our continuum of care will offer the security of being cared for throughout the process of aging. As a resident's needs evolve, we offer the environments and services to respond to their changing healthcare requirements through our "neighborhood-style" community personal care. Understanding the unique individuality of each resident provides a fresh approach to care, always supporting their highest level of independence.

Our restaurant style dining experience combines the warmth of home with a 5-star atmosphere. With our first class amenities, provided transportation, and unsurpassed hospitality services, the community embraces a lifestyle that is gracious and refined.

Assisted Living

Our community is responsive to offering our residents the care they need throughout the process of aging. Because different care and housing options are available in the same residential setting, couples can continue to live together in light of their differing healthcare needs. This variety of options instills peace of mind where residents can experience optimal aging and have the security of being cared for throughout the process of growing older.

Our team of talented, compassionate nurses and personal care staff provide care 24 hours each day, seven days a week. They design a personalized and individualized service plan with each resident who receives personal care. Through the efforts of our Wellness Director, care will be coordinated to include a full range of home health, physician and rehabilitation services, allowing residents to remain in the setting they now call "home".

To further insure the continuity of meeting your healthcare needs, Canterfield has worked to establish relationships with hospitals, skilled nursing, and allied health services in the local area.

Our programs enhance the lifestyle of those with memory loss by giving them the opportunity to live an active and fulfilling life while enjoying continuity through Canterfield’s neighborhood concept with the same staff members day in and day out. We went to see Canterfield of Fort Myers today. The place was nice, calm, and quiet, and the residents seemed just fine and happy. The apartment that we saw was nice and spacious. It had a kitchenette, nice closets, and a walk-in shower. Each room had its own air conditioning thermostat. They had a library. They played bingo, games, and puzzles, and they had arts and crafts.

Canterfield of Fort Myers is relatively new to the area, but it's very, very clean and well-maintained. The rooms are big and the prices are low. My parents are moving in next week. Everything which they have in their brochure is there, from the library, the dining hall, the pool room, they have computers, they have billiards, they have a theater section, arts and crafts, a hair salon, and wellness centers. They will be in assisted living. I haven't had any experience with anyone, but the saleslady and the front desk. They offer every single thing all the other places do, really nothing much more. All the others in this area are way, way overpriced and their rooms are so much smaller. Canterfield gives you all the same amenities, they give you a bigger room, and it is for a lower price.

My mom stayed in Canterfield of Fort Myers Assisted Living for 18 days. I picked her up yesterday. Everything was convenient. Everything was good. They took good care of her. She caught a cold, but she says she's okay. Everybody loved her. And they were very attentive especially when she got sick. They took care of her. They had a thing where they fixed their nails, and she got her nails fixed. She would socialize. She socializes with the people. They said she sat outside where the weather was warm. We had lunch with her on her first day there, and it was good. The staff are wonderful. The woman we made the arrangement with was Hayley and she was wonderful.

Canterfield of Fort Myers felt open and comfortable. It was new, which was nice. It was located near the places where you can independently go if you had to, like to a store or something. The staff members were great, and a lot of them were occupied in the jobs that they were doing. They have a beautiful theater room. They have different places for you to be able to go independently where you can read, or stay by yourself, or you could go outside. The room is like a studio which is all I need for myself. I didn't eat it, but the food looks good.

My mother has moved into Canterfield of Fort Myers. We chose it because it's very close to my house, and it's brand new. The staff is excellent. The room is just basic. It's a studio apartment, and she's only been in there for three days now. The food is good from what my mother tells me. I haven't seen it or tasted anything myself, but she seems very pleased with it. As far as activities, I know they do painting, arts and crafts, and a few other different things. She hasn't been there long enough to really get involved in any of that stuff yet. Everything is brand new. I couldn't ask for anything more.
