My parents are in the process of moving onto the property. The Independent living facility they are moving into gives them the luxury of living independently in a condo but with the security of life time health car at a reasonable cost. Its giving my parents the peace of mind that they will be taken care of medically for the rest of their lives with the security they will never burden family with any medical debt if it rears its ugly head. The property is beautifully landscaped with many fountain filled lakes and beautiful birds of all shapes and sizes. The Independent living facility is the most modern and up to date facility out there. I will update this website once my parents move in and let you know how the facility is treating my parents, the new residence of St Andrews. This is an amazing new experience for them and we are hoping St Andrews comes through and makes it everything we think it will be as a wonderful new experience for the latter years of my parents lives.

St. Andrews Estates was very nice, clean, and homey. It was little less institutional, bigger, and spread out more. The people were super nice. I passed a really nice gym. They had a huge bulletin board with all of the activities. It looked like there was something going on every night, like movies. On Saturdays, there was a group going to the opera.

St. Andrews Estate was a very nice place but very expensive. It was really upseting to hear that if you buy a condo there, when you pass away, your family doesn’t get the condo and doesn’t have the right to sell it. St. Andrews takes the condo after you pay thousands of dollars for it. That was really shocking to me. The facility was very nice, and everything was beautiful, but if you buy a condo and have to pay a monthly fee for everything, and then not be able to have your family inherit t is wrong. They do have a lot of nice-looking places and a lot of activities, and they'll feed the family.

I decided on St. Andrew Estates; their grounds were lovely, and everything seems to be very well-kept. The dining facilities were beautiful, they have a lot of activities, I already know a couple of people there, and they speak very highly of it. It has proximity to the Catholic Church, and that’s important to me. It’s also close to the Town Center Mall, which is very nice. It provides transportation to doctor’s appointments and church. The main thing that I liked was that they have a beautifully upgraded assisted living facility right there on the grounds, they have skilled nursing that’s been rated 5 stars, and it has single rooms. I have looked at several other communities where the skilled nursing was usually a double room or you had to pay extra. It’s also non-traffic. The advantage of the CCRC is that when you go in, part of your entrance fee is going to be tax deductable, and your monthly payments -- up to almost 40% in some cases -- can be considered a prepaid medical expense, and it’s tax deductable; that’s very important also. The apartment selection is pretty good, and they were upgraded for you with new kitchen, bathroom, floors, and windows. They have a lot of choices there that you can influence before you move, and they also provide a lot of help with advice about your move, which is very nice.

Not good for older parents. Independent living may be younger and active, however, no options for a couple to age together if different levels of care required. I.E. One needing nursing, the other Assisted living. High management turnover.

I would definitely go back and visit St. Andrews again. Everybody was cordial. The residents were younger. A place where both my husband and I could enjoy. I tried the food in the community and it was good. I also checked at the rooms and they were decent.
