The hospital sent my husband to Miami Jewish Health. Surprisingly, the place was very nice, and I'm impressed with the care that they're giving him. He's only been there a couple of days now. They feed him, and he seems to be resting well. He's still very weak. He became very unresponsive last week and ended up at the hospital to the hospice center at Miami Jewish Health. I've only been there twice, and the staff seemed very attentive and very caring. Medicare pays for the hospice care.

My experience with MJHS has been nothing but excellent, from day 1. They have become a family to me and my parents and I have great peace of mind knowing that they are in the best possible place with caring and professional people around them at all times. I visited several facilities as I was looking for a place for both my parents. Dad has advanced Alzheimer's and mom has had several strokes, dementia, and breast cancer, among other things. My one and only choice was always Miami Jewish and I couldn't be happier that they now get to call it home. Everyone I have met, from admissions to nursing to doctors to therapists and even environmental services has been nothing but helpful, kind and professional. Mom has had several episodes of syncope and I have personally been there when they react and act immediately to help her out. They are incredibly patient with her and their main concern is her well-being and safety. My father's Alzheimer's has made the transition into the home quite difficult and having lived with my father for the past 2 years I know how tough it can be. Yet, everyone is always doing their best to make him feel at home, they reassure him and care for him and have his comfort and safety as their number 1 priority. There was a point when he was becoming more and more confused, and extremely agitated, and the medical staff, including Dr. Lopez and Dr. Agronin came in and addressed this issue by seeing and monitoring dad but also by talking to me to see which care route would be best for him. Dad is now doing much better, and that is all thanks to everyone's efforts. I live outside of the country, which makes matters for me that much more difficult. Yet, I know that they are in the best possible care right now. I speak with the staff and my parents every day to keep up to date. And, if anything should happen, the nurses or social worker immediately notify me. For example, my mother had to go back to the hospital for a pacemaker, and everyone was attentive and patient with me as I asked a million questions and of course worried about mom, dad being alone and me not being there. Being able to ask the questions and have a conversation about this, made me feel safe...even though I am halfway across the world. This weekend with Hurricane Irma threatening the state, they have extra staff on board, and are more than fully prepared to ensure that the residents are safe. And yes, I live outside of the country, but have family who visit mom and dad and they also agree with me in that the facility is simply great! All in all: the Physical Therapy staff is amazing. The nurses are caring, professional and kind. Their social worker is on top of things and is a great link in between all the different departments. The activities team does an amazing job at having different activities and picking as many residents up so that they can participate and become a part of the community (no easy task.). I could go on and on and have many more examples of why I absolutely recommend this facility. They have given me and my parents peace of mind, and that is simply priceless.

We chose Miami Jewish Home and Hospice because it was convenient, and the therapist knows my relative already. They have a variety of food. All of the CNAs and nurses are extremely helpful and sympathetic. The therapy is very good.

I was able to visit Miami Jewish Home and Hospice, and I was very impressed with what I saw. It was a great experience. I was very pleased about their security, it is easy to get around, and it is very peaceful.

I moved my dad at Miami Jewish, and he has been there for about 10 months now. So far they are good, and the food is excellent. They got a bunch of activities; he can go to the dining room, exercise, and play bingo, and if he wants to go out somewhere they can take me out. The best thing about the place is that it’s clean, and the people are nice. They do listen to you if there are concerns; they want you to sit down with them.

Miami Jewish Home is a very nice place. My friend, who is bedridden, is there. The rooms are nice and spacious. The facilities are spacious. They have a lot of space. They have a nice garden, and they have several rooms. The staff is friendly.

This place looks beautiful on the outside, but is ugly on the inside. The nursing staff showed no compassion toward my mother, who was dying and in terrible pain. Nor did they show compassion for family members. It's a shame that they are under the auspices of a Jewish organization.

Miami Jewish Health Systems was recommended by one of the people in the hospital that she was in for rehab. They had a bed available so we had her in there. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and very clean. For what it is, it's a nice place. The grounds are beautiful and it's a very large complex. They have independent living, assisted living, and a nursing facility. They have activities although not a lot. Mom has been in there for a few weeks. I like the way that they treat the patients. They are very good. I would surely recommend this facility, but they need to improve on their food because it's not too tasty.

The facility was clean and the people were nice, friendly, and professional. It had ample parking close to the facility. Always had doctors on site to monitor critical situations. This was a plus a my grandmother would occasionally need immediate attention from a doctor for her needs. The cost was accommodating and they had counselors to help find resources available to help pay for services. Staff always greeted me kindly and kept me up to date whenever something changed w/ my grandmothers health. Everyone knew the patients. My grandmother is very happy with her care, which really made me happy with the decision. The culture is diverse. My grandmother is from another country and they had a staff that spoke my grandmothers language(french). The facility seemed a bit crowded and private rooms were very expensive. Shared rooms were reasonable, but not many private areas. Screening should be done before placing two people in a room together. Very close to a hospital if an emergency came up. Very little paperwork or notice needed to take patients off campus and timing very flexible.

To start off, when you first look at the vicinity it does not appear so pleasant, until you step unto the facilities grounds is when you are invited in with soft colors and a very beautiful waterfall piece. The lobby area was pleasant and the staff members where courteous. I was given a small tour and the landscape was well done with plenty of cozy rest areas, there was also a big bird cage where the resident could feed them. In the center of all the building was a petite little salon and a caf̩ surrounded by this enormous tree that gave the area a fantasy appeal. Since I was a volunteer I worked hands on with the staff, they treated their patients with dignity and respect, the way they should all be treated. I personally was on the ward for those with dementia and the staff treated them well, the patients had sing-a-longs and where all invited to eat in a dinner room style area if they could. Overall, it was a lovely experience to be in a place with such a inviting atmosphere.

Miami Jewish Health Systems is a highly reputable health care service provider in Miami. My mother is in her late 80's now and we were looking for a nice nursing home/assisted living situation for her to get into. Her pension isn't very high and I don't make enough money to afford some of the higher-end options, so the Douglas Gardens North Development seemed like a natural fit. My mother moved in there 1/15/12 and she has absolutely loved it. The staff there are extremely kind and very helpful. They offer an array of services that really add a home-like feel to the community. My mother loves to read and they offer a full library there where she can check out books and interact with other people here age. They even have a game room where they play checkers and cards! My mother isn't very computer savvy, but there is a computer lab a the facilities that I try to take her to so she can learn how to use her email to communicate with me. My personal favorite aspect of the facilities is the vegetable garden. Whenever I visit, my mother and I go look at her tomatoes and we just walk around and talk. The Douglas Gardens North facility also has a myriad of other features such as art classes, computer classes, fitness classes, and other community activities so their residents really feel involved and busy. I am very thankful for these facilities and how cooperative Miami Jewish Health Systems have been to me and my family. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable assisted living option for a loved one!

From the moment I arrived on the premises, I felt secured. There is a 24 hour guard. It is not easy to walk on the premises. The exterior is a pink hue and very well manicured. There is not much parking space for visitors and on Jewish holidays the parking over flows onto the streets off the property. It is a fairly large site with 3-4 buildings and various floors. They have everything from a temple, salon, pool, lounge, dinning area. Most of the decor is out of style but the place is kept very clean. The administrative staff was not very friendly, although the nurses/aids made up for it. Many times they had no idea of where my friend was, which meant to me they don't keep track of everyone. They do tend to have around the clock activities in all the different buildings. I sat down to have dinner once with my friend and the food, cutlery, service was pretty good. I was expecting hospital food. Overall considering the lack of assisted living homes in the area, this one is by far the nicest.
