The Cove at Tavares Village is an older place. They have memory care. Their residents all seemed very happy. They were playing cards and bingo with oversize cards. A lot is done for the memory care people. They have a small garden area. There's a lot of staff, and they all seem very concerned about their patients. The rooms are good sized. They're not small. It's a lockdown facility. The assisted living is in the front of the building, and the memory care is locked down in the back. It's a little tight back there for the number of people that they have. It's on the small side for this many people that they have in memory care. The rooms were hotel type. You could fit a queen-size bed, a table, and a little recliner if you want to. However, we were set on going for this morning and I had everything I thought in place, and when we came down to the administration, they were giving me a very difficult time on whether they would take my mother-in-law or they wouldn't. It just seemed like they just wanted to keep arguing with me. So finally, I couldn't take it anymore, and we decided to go take another look at the other facility, and they were much more workable. The staff were a little rough around the edges just from what I experienced this morning, it's the administration. The administration is a little rough.

We toured The Cove at Tavares Village. It's considerably smaller for the area to house people. It's older, and it's not as high-end as the other facilities. They have an assortment of rooms. For people that need more care, they give them rooms that are closer to the nurse's station like in a circle. For people that can be on their own a little in memory care, they have a hallway for more privacy. The rooms are like hotel rooms. The staff was super friendly and very polite. I met a lot of them, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. There weren't a lot of amenities for the memory care. It appeared to be very limited. It's so lockdown there, you can't even think about getting out.
