My sister is currently at Regents Park of Winter Park, but it's too big for her. I'd like something smaller. They're short-staffed, and I think my sister is being neglected. Nobody seems to care and whenever you ask a question. They always blame somebody else. Anything is always somebody else's fault. The food is horrible; she doesn't like it, and she doesn't want to eat. We brought her some juice and nobody gives it to her. The building is nice and clean, which is what I liked. On the first day she got there, they gave her a pillow. From that pillow, she had a rash on the back of her head. I threw the pillow away in the garbage. The next day when I came back, they took the pillow out of the garbage, put a sheet over it, and gave it back to her. They told me that the pillows are disinfected, but how is it disinfected when I put it in the garbage and they took it out. The communication is really bad. She has a roommate. Her roommate keeps wearing my sister's clothes, and nobody says anything. I've marked all her clothes with her name, and nobody seems to pay attention.

No response to call lights. My family member would call me at home and then I have to call them and plead with them to see about her. Complaints to the nurse supervisor and the administrator is useless. They just want to keep the ship afloat. My relative fell and when they found her at 1am they had no idea how long she had been there. My relative developed skin lesions from the neglect. On several of my visits, I find her laying in feces and urine soaked sheets. Most times I clean her myself because again, they do not answer the call lights. Emails to the social worker get no reply. Last weekend my relative had stomach issues and diarrhea so I asked the nurse to give her some Imodium. Nurse called the doctor 3 times and never heard back. It’s just terrible. My aunt left the hospital with the hope of getting better but she has just continued to decline. I do not recommend this place, in fact, I would advise against it. The night my aunt fell , the nurse was very insensitive and asked ‘why did she get out of bed? Where was she going?’ I could say a lot more but I am stopping here. Hope this helps someone not make the mistake I made in putting my family there.

This facility is completely BELOW substandard. I cannot understand any rating more than 1 star. Very poorly managed. Not enough help, and anytime you or a patient asks for help they give such attitude. Most patients are left to almost fend for themselves. Food is completely wretched and unsatisfactory. This facility lacks professionalism. Oxygen tank was found empty many times and she was left in her soiled clothes on many an occasion. Rarely could I reach my mother as phone system completely outdated. If I got through I would be put on hold indefinitely. My Mom's weight and overall health and well being declined rapidly in 4 months after entering until her final demise. This experience was a complete nightmare. Do not even consider this for someone you love, and who needs reputable care. Very sad to watch.

I am the health care advocate for one of the long range patients at Regents. It is a constant battle with this facility. This patient is a Type 1 Diabetic extremely brittle who is blind and on dialysis. The lack of care is overwhelming. The list is so long of infractions I see daily. Lack of Blood sugar testing, using only long range insulin when they know that a sliding scale insulin should be on hand if needed. They do not answer the call button in a timely way. Lack of showers for patients, 15-16 days . Lack of aids to attend to patients along with more duties for than the single nurse they assign to a unit than is possible. Housekeeping is a joke rarely do you see anyone cleaning. Incomplete wheelchairs no foot plates,rickety bedside tables . Trying to get through on phone lines at night or weekends holidays is terrible. The constant reporting of problems that are never addressed but lots of lip service.I have tried over the course of months to deal with these people to no avail. Now my only recourse is to report all of this to the governing agencies. My question is how can this facility maintain a 5 star rating?

Run! Don't walk to get away from this place! There are a few attentive and professional caregivers on staff but boy-oh -boy the bad ones are the worst! I have seen them screaming at patients. If you ask them for the smallest thing you are met with major attitude, as if you are putting them out. My mother has been left on her own to the point where I believe she isn't even getting her all of her meals if I'm not there. Please read the reviews of this place. I have so many stories and just today was stopped by another patient's family member who spent an hour telling me her horror stories with Regent's. They are so inattentive that we are moving my mother because of the lack of quality care. Save yourself a lot of stress and heartache and avoid this place.

I am very upset with this place. My mother has been there 7 days, she has yet to get a shower. I called and asked about this to the social worker, she assured me she would get her a shower, 24 hours later and still no shower. My mother asked Sunday if she could get a shower, she was told that she can have a shower on Wednesday or Saturday, she wasn't offered a shower either of those days, tomorrow will be 8 days....WEDNESDAY maybe she'll get a shower then? There is a dead cockroach in the corner that has been there since she got there, I suspect it will still be there after she leaves. Their "diabetic meals" come with a dessert and no it's not sugar free. I was told that they cut the sugar back by omitting whip cream if it comes on the dessert. The room my mom is in gets very cold at night because the other patient gets hot at night. There's a note on the thermostat that says "do not touch", I guess the other patient's comfort is more important than my mom's? She can't sleep because she's so cold, so I asked the social worker if she could change rooms, she said that was not a problem and that she would move her tonight if not first thing in the morning. It's 2:00 pm the next day, and she still hasn't been moved. I called to get her discharged as I am done playing with these people and now no one will answer at the nurse's station or at the social worker's desk. When she calls for someone to come help her they take their time strolling in...10 min in fact, I timed it myself. If anyone ever has an emergency they might die before someone comes in. When I went to visit on Sunday there was a man outside sleeping hunched over in his wheelchair, no one around keeping an eye on him. When I left later he was still there in the same position. I think there are a lot of people working there, but not a lot of people working. I expect my mother to be treated with the same respect and care they would expect for their mothers and if this is the way they treat their mothers then no mother should go there! Be wary of this place, do your research, and don't let the hospital suggest a place to you, I made that mistake and now my mother is suffering for it.

Do not take your loved one here. They barely spend time with anyone and ignore you when you ask for something. Roaches in room for a week and they don't clean up. The room is either too cold or too warm and at night they refuse to make room warm resulting in a shivering loved one all night. They don't even ask you if you want to take a shower so you wait a week because they only shower certain days of the week. All employees look depressed and don't care who walks into the place even when they say see nurse before going into room. When you tell them your loved one is diabetic and want to know what food they give out they laugh and it won't hurt anyone. Wow really?? So when your loved ones blood sugar skyrockets because they give your sugary foods they don't seam to care. When they test your blood sugar level at 530am and it's really low and they say make sure you eat all your breakfast which is not served until 830am. If it's low why not take care of it asap?? It is not right or fair that we spend a lot of money in a place that leaves our loved ones behind without proper care. They appear to have a lot of staff but most of them are doing nothing but standing around. When you push the button for help they take forever to come to your room. So when you have really low blood sugar they won't help you awhile so bring a backup to help yourself. Same goes if you need to go to bathroom asap as they take forever to come to your room and help you. This place has the worst processes of any company. No one tells you anything when you get there about how things work. They make you figure it out and there attitudes are aweful. Don't bring your loved one here as they will be depressed, uncomfortable, and not getting the right treatment they pay for.

They have a lot of good people at Regents Park, but I think it is too big. They have a lot of CNAs who are very nice, but sometimes they don't interact much with the patients, so they don’t know too much about the patients. The rehabilitation was very good. My mother was there for three weeks. They have a big room where they do lunch and activities. My mother was sleepy all the time. The place was very clean, and the food was good.

Regents Park Health Care was beautiful. The staff was wonderful. I was invited for dinner, and the food was wonderful. They offer three meals a day for their clients. The rooms were beautiful, big, and roomy. The grounds were wonderful and very clean.

The Regents of Winter Park was my home away from home. I was there a very long time; I made it my home. It was beautiful there. I am home now, but I have some of the caregivers that I had there, the CNA's. They come to my home to visit. It was very good living there. The therapy was wonderful, and the food was good -- everything was so good. The staff was excellent.
