The facility is clean and neat. Most of people are friendly and very patient with my relative. The food is average and the dining service is below average. The issues the facility faces is staffing shortages. They have lots of programs and do outings. They are not accommodating into making the room or bathroom accessible - only if you pay for it. I'm not sure any other facilities are much better, giving the staffing shortages that all facilities face. They do listen and they do try. But just average is what they are.

Rockland Place was very nice and had therapists who came in from Bayada. The entire place was clean, had an activity calendar, and seemed to be efficiently run. The dining room was set up nicely with napkins and silverware, and the bedrooms looked nice.

Rockland Place is rated number one in Delaware. I like everything about it. The staff and food are great. It's a beautiful facility. My mom is very happy. They do activities and have entertainment all day long and go on field trips. My mom goes to activities at 10:00 a.m. and does not get back to her room until 3:00 p.m.

Rockland Place was one of my favorite places. The reason we didn't select it was just location. Some of the things I liked was it was clean, it was neat. When I first walked in, the lodge room was straight ahead, and the residents were having lunch. There were aides and staff being helpful to the residents. I saw people get in touch. I did like their memory care unit. One of the things they say is helpful for folks with dementia is a green bathroom. Their bathrooms were painted, and the green color helps them with depth perception. The one drawback I saw was it was one, big dining room for the entire place, so I think that people like my mom have found that a little overwhelming instead of smaller dining rooms for different wings or different halls. However, I really, really liked Rockland Place. The accommodations were very nice and new-looking.

Rockland Place is beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. It was the most beautiful one, although the apartments weren't as big. But the whole facility was top-notch. It was aesthetically beautiful. The staff was wonderful. They were very outgoing and friendly. No complaints. It was so beautiful inside, and spacious. The rooms for the public or the general rooms were just beautiful.

Rockland is a very nice place but it's not for us. It's newer than some of the other facilities. The clientele were like 90 and they're quite old. That's the problem. I would think they are assisted living although they do say independent. They have some people that could live on their own but there were a lot of wheelchairs and a lot of walkers. The rooms were nice.

In the summer of 2010 my great aunt became a resident of Rockland Place in Wilmington, Delaware. She know longer wanted to live alone after her husband passed two years before. My family and I have visited her several times since she moved there and have been impressed each time. She is very happy there. They have a great staff, delicious food, and great amenities. She is able to live alone but still have the comfort of twenty-four hour staff and residents close by her own age. They have a lot of great activities, are there at a moments notice and like to take the residents out. We have always been happy with how kind and helpful the staff is to us when we visit her and think that the grounds are amazing. They even have instructors come in and teach their residents and they are able to sign up for classes to keep their minds fresh. She is very happy there and I would honestly recommend them to anyone. Residents are even allowed to have small pets if they wish to have them and the staff helps them with their care if they need it.

Rockland Place was a very impressive location with very friendly staff and beautiful facilities/outdoor areas. It seemed more magnificent than what my elderly grandfather in his weakened state could fully appreciate. He mostly stayed in his room, which was quite small but very comfortable. I'm sure he was bored and lonely there, but that was to no fault of the home. I remember the food being fine, but nothing too special. I also remember a very nice library there where you could even borrow movies. All in all, I'd say that this was the type of place I'd hope to find myself if I ever do end up in an assisted living facility. The only complaint I have is that on the final day of my grandfather's life he became quite nonsensical. We could tell he was slipping away. He kept asking to listen to opera music, which he had loved all his life. I ran frantically around the home looking for some source of music. I asked the staff, but they didn't take the matter seriously. In the end, I never was able to find opera music to play for my grandfather as he passed away. I wish that the home could have at least provided him a radio, but I understand they have more important things to worry about.
