I had a good visit Lutheran Senior Services - Luther Towers 1. The people were pleasant. It was an older building and wasn't as clean as I expected it to be in the lobby area. We saw several people easily go in and out, just waving, and not checking in. We were told on the visit that people had to sign in and out, but that's not what we saw. The rooms were as expected and we were happy with them. They were adequate in size and about average. We would have liked a little bit bigger rooms. The bedroom was fine, but the living area was a little too small. The place appears to need a fresh coat of paint. The director was very informative. The staff member behind the desk at the lobby though was very lackadaisical. I may have stood there for ten seconds, but the lady on the phone was talking and doing personal stuff. It just wasn't too personable.

Mom liked Lutheran Senior Services - Lutheran Towers 1. They provided food services, trash services, and cable. The room that we saw was in good shape and clean. The staff that gave me the tour was fine. Mom liked everything in that place.

Lutheran Towers 1 was nice but quite small for me. I’m claustrophobic and I would have felt closed in. We were shown around and told the different activities that they had for the seniors. They have certain times to do different things and rooms set up for different activities. I only the met their supervisor or coordinator and she was very pleasant as far as answering our questions and showing us around the different rooms in the building and the apartments that they had available for the seniors. But I’m claustrophobic and I live in a big house where it’s bright and I can see around and everything, and for one thing my furniture wouldn’t fit in there. So I would have to get rid of all of my furniture and because of the way the room was, I just wouldn’t be able to adjust and I know I was going to be miserable. Everything was just too compact that I wouldn’t be able to get my bed in there; I would have to get either a sofa bed or a single bed and would have to literally sell or give away a lot of my things because they would not fit. As far as what I’ve seen, everybody looked content. Maybe it would be ideal for other people; but because of my way of living, it’s not for me.
