These are senior apartments, subsidized through HUD. The building is a tower that takes up a whole corner of the block. It is independent living, with every resident having a private apartment. They are not new, but are cared for appropriately. Parking is hard to find here, almost nonexistent. The facility does not have staff for security, and residents must contract through the government or Medicaid if they need help with getting around and eating and other daily living activities. The place has a strong feeling of being economically challenged. It doesn't feel unsafe, but there is no visual appeal; it's simply like a dingy, institutional apartment. Other places have better decorations, better maintenance. There are no activities or common areas. The advantage for some seniors is that they're surrounded by other seniors"”and it may be a good option for some who are independent.
