My parent was put in the memory care wing here by my brother. It is terribly understaffed. There are no activities other than a person who reads to the residents a couple times a week. There is one nurse on duty on weekends for at least forty residents who are cognitively challenged. There is minimal medical attention. My fathers chart doesnt even list his allergies. It is a sad place. I dont understand how the state of Connecticut allows this sub standard of care!

Avoid this place unless your family member is in fairly decent health and just needs some rest and rehab. Residents are left to lie in bed with very little oversight. PT rehab was OK when given but all in all there are places far superior to this one. Avoid.

Absolutely appauling. I can assure you of a wonderful tour, sincere positive "sales pitch", but don't expect to see them again until the paper work appointment, an hour after your loved one is admitted. Filthy, smiles are scarce, reasonable request ignored, 20 minute response to nurse call button (if lucky). Especially frightening if the patient is NOT MOBILE at all. Filthy bathrooms, filthy floors, sheets, rough treatment. I WILL SAY HEAD NURSE on DAYS absolutely wonderful....BUT HOW MUCH IS SHE ABLE TO DO HERSELF, AND SHE IS ONLY ON DAYS NOT NIGHTS...Nurses station empty, actually you feel as though every staff person has gone home. PT...therapist, at least 50 % watching TV, left patients sitting while they went to purchase candy bar, every therapist eats lunch at the same time on the PT table no less and not even properly cleaned afterwards..... never encourage patients, no motivating, horrible....Outsoor sitting area neglected......filthy as well......
