The Saybrook at Haddam was very good. The administrator showed us around the different areas, we also had lunch there and got to speak with some of the residents. It was a very nice place and they have all the facilities. Plus, the price was also reasonable. They have a variety of apartments, including 1-bedroom studios, two sizes of 1-bedroom apartments, and 2-bedrooms.

I visit the community regularly and always have a wonderful experience. The Saybrook is a beautiful community, lovely apartments, plenty to do every day, and a caring staff. I could not ask for more for my aunt!

The Saybrook at Haddam is lovely. The apartments were nicer than any other place we had seen. The layout was very good. The bathrooms were very large with a lot of grab bars and safety features. Architecturally, this was the best place we saw. There are a lot of big windows, the ceilings are high, the hallways are wide and that makes a huge difference more than other things that people might be looking for. All the residents we talked to had wonderful things to say about this facility spontaneously which I thought was pretty interesting. Everybody looked pretty happy. The staff who helped us with the tour were excellent. They were well-informed, very understanding, and very interested in feedback and preferences. The dining area and the food were excellent.

The Saybrook provided three meals a day, and it was not too far from my house. The staff was very fine and very knowledgeable. They showed me the calendar for a month of what they did. They had an exercise room. They had yoga. They had rider's group. The atmosphere was very peaceful. We looked at a studio, but I guess she's going to be in a one-bedroom. They were a little small, but they did need a lot because they did not cook. The food was provided for them so they did not need a big place.

The Saybrook at Haddam was recommended by someone we know. The staff is excellent. My mother has a bedroom with an attached bath, a living room, and a small kitchenette. It is well-maintained, light, and airy. All new painting and rugs; it is beautiful. The food is fine. It is not gourmet restaurant food, but it is certainly flavorful and well-prepared. It is the kind of thing that you could eat day in and day out and not get tired of. They have various classes like yoga, and they have discussion groups, movies, exercise, and some form of games.

The Saybrook had a more open and bright appearance when you walked in to the lobby. They have a lot of shrubbery, plants and flowers. Almost every apartment has either a patio or a balcony so that you can sit outside. All the patio furniture is the same and it has a more countryside setting.

Any time that I have been called to Saybrook at Haddam for an emergency transport, the facility is always clean and kept in excellent working order. The staff is extremely helpful since I am there for transport. They are very knowledgeable medically and take excellent care of the residents and their needs. I highly recommend this facility because of the attention of detail the employees take with the residents. The area specially made for residents who have dementia and Alzheimer's disease is especially nice. When I go into any of the rooms, it doesn't feel like I am in an assisted living facility, but in a town house or small home. The facility appears to have all the amenities residents would have at home, and every portion of the building, either rooms, hallways, or patios is very accessible. This feature is nice, especially since I'm in the business of moving people!

This seems like a great place, not at all what I imagined assisted living to be like. My grandparents have a very large living space, which includes a bedroom, two kitchens, an office, and a living area. They have all the medical and nutritional amenities anyone could ask for, and the staff seems very nice and caring. It's also in a great location, quiet, and surrounded by nature.
