I went to visit Springwood. At that point, I was between meals, so I didn't taste the food. The place was very clean. The staff was a little sparse, but that's because they were back in the areas where the people were at. I think it was the time when they were trying to get the residents up, dressed, and out of their room.
We looked at a few of the rooms. It was fine. There was nothing to complain about, and nothing that stood out as exceptional; nothing that stood out as bad. We started with assisted living. Then we did a quick tour through the memory care. The memory care was very, very similar to the assisted living. I didn't notice the residents having pendants on or any other fall device, so I don't know whether they had those or not. The staff was very friendly. The residents that I spoke with were happy with it, but they weren't ecstatic with it. The facilities were a bit older, but immaculate.

I was hoping so much that I liked the inside of Springwood in Arvada because the grounds were really nice. They have a pond next to it, walking trails, and the exterior was very nice. The inside was very dark and tired though. They need to revamp it because everything is just old. The staff, on the other hand, was very helpful and nice.

My mother has put her deposit down on Springwood. They are working on the elevators and it hasn't all come together yet. We chose it because she has friends there. The rooms were very nice and spacious. They provide two meals a day, lunch and dinner, and numerous activities. The property is in a nice location and the staff that I met was nice, friendly, and accommodating. We're very excited about it.

I liked Springwood. The staff was really nice, answered the questions I asked, and gave a lot of good information as to what kinds of things I should ask when I'm looking at different places. The place was very clean and welcoming. The lady who did the tour was very helpful. My overall impression was very good. They have programs and activities that you can join. Everything was very pleasant and it didn't have a nursing home feel. It just had a nice apartment feel. It was a nice experience for me.

My father has been in Springwood for about 4 years now. It's excellent and they are doing a wonderful job, I would recommend it to anyone. He's in a 1 bedroom with a spare room and a living room. Before he moved in, they completely remodeled it with new cabinets, paint, and carpeting. It's in a very good location and the grounds are very well kept. They have a lot of outside facilities to stroll in, sit outside, read a book, or whatever.

Springwood Retirement Campus was excellent. Everybody was very helpful and I'm pleased with what I finally ended up with for my mother-in-law. She's doing well, and they're taking good care of her there. It's a care center where they have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. My mother-in-law is helped with her medications, and they make sure she gets three meals a day and gets to activities. There's always a nurse available.

Springwood is near my home and my family, of which there are five of us. It’s convenient because it’s close to where we are located, so we can visit our parents. They had a very nice staff; a gal named Margaret showed us around the place, what the apartments would look like for our parents, the amenities that we were looking for, and the assistance needed. It looked like a fairly safe campus, so residents could go out and walk around the property and come back in. They have different activities, like they’ll take people shopping. They do have meals, but typically only lunch and dinner are served, so that leaves them breakfast. They also have a little breakfast bar to get a burrito or a coffee or whatever they need if they don’t feel like making something in their rooms.

When we were there, Springwood had everything that we may need, and you can also cook your own lunches or breakfasts or you can have choices. And they do have registered nurses, which was our main problem with some of the others because my husband has had four heart attacks. They have the medical care that we need, and that's the only thing that we found some of them did not have. They were very well-staffed. They have total nursing care and qualified people on staff if there was an emergency. They were the best ones, we thought. Besides that, they are close to home.
I think they do not give you breakfast, but you have a kitchenette in your room, and you can make your own breakfast. They don't serve a full breakfast, so that is on your own, but they have things available. You could go down to where they eat and order coffee and maybe fruit or toast or something like that.
We belong to the Glory of God Lutheran Church -- which is very close to there -- and that's another thing we like. And the people that we know that are there are very happy with it.

My parents are at Springwood Retirement Community. It is a very pleasant environment. For the cost, they have a lot of amenities. They have their meals, linens, housekeeping, transportation, entertainment, and workout areas. The areas around the complex are easy walking for them. They’re close to Safeway and King Soopers and restaurants if they need to get out. It is something that works to their lifestyle.
The rooms are small; it’s adequate for them. They were downsizing big time which was difficult. There’s no storage at all, but we manage to make their life pretty simple. They liked the food; the staff was exceptional. The people are extremely friendly, extremely helpful, and very understanding. I feel like they’re really safe there.
