My mother is staying in The Bridge Assisted Living at Life Care Center of Longmont. She has been there for three years now. It's very clean. There's always somebody at the front desk. They're very health conscious. We wear masks. Her room is always very clean. They do her laundry. You pay for everything extra. If you want them to give her prescriptions, you have to pay extra for them to do that. They've got a beauty shop. Everything is extra. You pay a flat fee for an apartment, but any extra services cost extra.
The apartment is a good size. My mother got her bed, a recliner, a little desk, and a TV. There's a little fridge, a microwave, and a sink. The bathroom is very large. She's got a large shower. We provide all the toilet paper, Kleenex, and her disposable underwear. They check on her regularly and she doesn't like it. No matter what you did, she just didn't want to be there. Anytime I've had to interact with the staff, they have been very pleasant, very helpful, and very nice. My mother likes them all, and they all like her, it seems like. However, they have a large turnover. Every time we come up, it's different people. They're all nice; it's just different people.
On the second floor, they have a beauty shop and a library. Downstairs, they've got an area where they do activities, they've got a TV area, they've got a dining room, and they've got a large living room where we can come all of us and visit. There's a front area where they can sit outside. There's a courtyard and a gazebo. And they're allowed animals. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful. They've got crafts, music, and bingo. Every single day of the week, they've got activities that are going on that they can join in. They've got an ice cream bar. They have a popcorn machine in there. However, my mother doesn't participate. They have birthday parties for the residents. They give them little head hats and whistles. They celebrate everything.

So disappointed in the Senior Management with The Bridge @ Longmont. Within two hours of signing the lease for my mother’s assisted living apartment and set to move her in the following day, the Executive Director denied her residency. The Director never took the time to meet nor speak directly with my mom or family to discuss any concerns with welcoming her to The Bridge. While pleading with the Executive Director over the phone for a reason for her sudden and last-minute reversal, I learned her misinformed and misguided decision was based solely on a nurse’s -- not associated with the facility -- brief and stressful visit with my mother. The “nurse” didn’t have the decency to say Goodbye when he was finished and got up from the table and walked out the door when he was done! The Executive Director would not reconsider her decision even after another fully qualified nurse and the Bridge’s Sales Manager, both of whom spent an hour with my mom on separate occasions, acknowledged to the Director that she would be a good fit for the assisted living community.
The Executive Director’s lack of compassion, disregard for the extreme emotional strain placed on my family, and insincere “I’m so sorry” still infuriates me to this day. When the Sales Manager first mentioned to me that the Executive Director has been at the Bridge since day one (25+ years) – apparently, a rarity -- my gut reaction was not impressed. I was unsure why I had this feeling, but after the horrific treatment and her arrogance in saying, “this is my decision, and my decision is final, period!” I understood my intuitive feelings. She has become complacent in her managerial position, uncaring for those truly in need, and content with the emotional scars inflicted upon a family at their height of despair.
I hope no other family goes through a similar eleventh-hour kick to the curb. Perhaps one day, the Bridge at Longmont will hire a sympathetic and compassionate Executive Director. Forgiven but not Forgotten!

We had a very, very nice tour with The Bridge at Longmont. It had apartments where my aunt and uncle could live together, get assistance, and do whatever they needed. It was very nice. It appeared that as people moved out of the apartment, they would update it. Some of their rooms were a little bit old and had carpet and stuff in them. They were updating it with wood floors, more standard stuff, so we were impressed with that. A beautiful facility with a lot of places to sit and visit with other people, and it was a very nice facility. The staff was very attentive to us. They were very good about verifying when our meeting was with them. They were very good about any questions, and they called us to follow up. The menu was nice, they shared it with us, and it looked nice. They had different sections throughout the area wherein one section people were putting puzzles together, in another section, they might be playing a game. They had a little living room with a beautiful fireplace in it, and people were gathered around there reading newspapers and books and it appeared to be very nice. They had a lot going on.

The staff at The Bridge Assisted Living at Life Care Center of Longmont was very helpful and not pushy. The facility is beautiful, and the halls are wide. The staff calls you by name. They have lots of sitting areas and open areas where you can do puzzles and games and spend time with family. They have private dining room options for family potlucks. My in-laws have a one-bedroom apartment. They have a living room, dining room, and a bedroom and bathroom, and it's very well maintained, very light, bright, and airy. It has three windows, so they've got a view of the mountains from each side. They have a fitness room, salon, activity room for games, knitting, dances, church service, a piano, a living room with a fireplace and TV, a front room with an aquarium, and an ice cream parlor. They take them out shopping and to doctors' appointments. The food menu is great. The facility is all in a square, so they can walk indoors safely. They have the most amenities and most to offer than the others especially for the price. Every resident gets a necklace or a bracelet, which is a Life Alert button.

The Bridge is a big community and looks very nice. We didn't like that it's on two floors. If you're on a floor where the cafeteria wasn't, it would require more navigating and remembering. It's located on a really busy highway so we didn't like the idea of my aunt walking around, plus, and there's no place for her to walk her dog. They had an exercise room as one of their amenities.

We highly recommend The Bridge for your loved ones.
Our mom called The Bridge home for 5 years. The Bridge is beautifully decorated, well-maintained with good food and activities. The staff has been caring, helpful and attentive from the time she moved in until the time she moved out.
Nurses – Nikki and Lindsey managed meds and doctor visits with expertise and dedication. They always made time to communicate with doctors and family.
Shirley and Lisa are excellent administrators, concerned for and responsive to the residents and their families.
David is a super maintenance guy…always willing and able to fix things.
All of the front desk staff get messages to the right staff members, field a zillion of our questions, and always greet us warmly.
To all of the staff, thank you. We were always reassured that our mom was in the best hands.

The Bridge at Longmont's dining room was nice, but the rooms were way too small. They were like cells, and that was the deluxe room. It'd be alright for one person perhaps, but as far as we were concerned, it was unsatisfactory. The place was dark and not very bright. They had facilities like a workout room and stuff like that. The outside location was good and very nice, a lot of trees.

I have my mother installed at the Bridge. I had narrowed it down to the Bridge and another place, and that other place was just smaller. The Bridge has twice as many people, so we thought it would be a better choice, plus we liked the feel of it. It felt a lot more like the independent living place she lived in in Nebraska, and we thought that would make her feel more comfortable. Plus, the bedroom had a door, so she could lock the cat out if she needed to lock the cat out because sometimes the kitty would wake her up in the middle of the night. It is expensive; it is $1,000 per animal, and she had two cats, so we only let her bring one of them. They have just been wonderful in the way they've helped us and treated mom. They remind her before every meal that it is getting close to meal time, and they would ask her to come down and say, "Oh, we're playing Bingo. Do you want to play Bingo?" or "We've got this entertainment coming in, why don't you come down and sit?" They try to keep the residents involved in what is going on, and whenever she has problems, she just pushes her button, and they'd come and help her.

We decided on a new residence. We choose The Bridge because of the quality of care and the activities that my mother was able to engage in. It was a much better value. The room is very nice. Everybody seems to pitch in. There’s no hierarchy of who will do what. When something needs to be done, it’s done.

My grandmother was a resident at The Bridge for just over a year. Shirley and her staff made it very comfortable for her and the family as well. They were very compassionate and understanding to her needs. I did not meet one person on the staff or nursing staff that I didn't trust with grandma. This was a great place for her to live her last days and I am grateful she was there.

The Bridge at Longmont was very welcoming to my elderly mother. The staff was all very friendly. The individual apartments were very nice, and varied in size and shape. My mother had a one-bedroom apartment with a view of the mountains. It had its own kitchenette with room for a small table & chairs, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The apartment we chose for her had 2 large closets for her storage space, and drawers and cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. The facility had weekly games, field trips, trivia contests, ice cream socials, sing-a-longs, and its own church service every week with a visiting pastor. It also had two private dining rooms where family could eat with the resident, either by eating the dining room food or by bringing in their own. The dining room facility looks like and operates like a regular restaurant, which residents can pick from several choices for their meals. There is also a craft/TV room where movies are shown and cards, games, and a computer for resident use. Weekly crafting sessions and baking are available for residents. Regular field-trips and restaurant trips are scheduled as well. The Bridge at Longmont also has a physical therapist who teaches exercise classes and helps the residents work out at their own pace in an exercise room. Laundry facilities are available for use, and/or the staff will do your laundry for you. A spa, beauty salon, and lounge seating are located in the building as well. The grounds were very nicely kept, with a gazebo and shade to eat a picnic lunch in, and a large covered front porch with a great view and lots of rocking chairs and other seating for residents and their guests. The Bridge at Longmont has celebrations for holidays and special events with live music and/or entertainment. They also do monthly birthday celebrations for the residents.

The amanities were wonderful and my grandparents lived in a very comfortable apartment that was very nice. They had the option of going to the dining room for meals or eating in their apartment. The dining room was also very nice but, while they were both still alive they tended to take more of their meals in their apartment I think in an effort to feel as close to a home situation as possible. The staff, for the most part, was great. There were however some faculty members that were hard to interact with and that I did not prefer to interact with my grandparents at all. I would say that 8 out of 10 were good and that is a good percentage especially in this setting.
