I was living in The Oaks before. It's old, it's decrepit, the toilets are in really bad shape, the floors in worse shape, but they did have good food, and it had a good kitchen. I got over 300 lbs eating there, which I'm working on getting rid of now. I wouldn't wanna live there again. It's like olds barracks buildings, the bathrooms are hard to use, the toilet/shower in one room the size of a closet, and your sink is in another closet size room, and the toilets are ancient, they're more on the size a child would use. I thought the overall staff was kind of weak. The managers I did not care for, the head nurse I didn't care for, the CNAs were OK, and the kitchen was pretty good. They have the usual old folk's home bingo, TVs, lounge area, and such.

I've lived here for approximately a year and 1/2 now. The employees are unbeatable, granted there are a couple needing attitude help, but most can't be beaten. The rooms are very small and the showers are pleasantly located with the toilet. The facility seems fairly old, probably explaining the toilet situation. My biggest problem is with the menu! I must admit that in my opinion a burned out chimp would be MUCH more imaginative. If you plan on a relative or yourself living here I can only hope that fish and/of chicken are the favorite menu selections. I personally don't even do meals 1/2 the time. Breakfast isn't their fault, I've never been big on Breakfast.

My mom is getting ready to move to the Oaks, and so far, its very good. The room is OK. It might be a little small, but theyre OK, fine, and they smell good. They offer meals, they take you to your doctors appointments, and there are other activities if you want to go. They have a room where you can go play cards, a snack room, and a workout room. The staff members I met are good so far, and my son lives nearby.

The Oaks' rooms were a bit smaller and outdated. They had a couple of wheelchair accessible rooms, but it was just very dated. It seemed like a really nice community and it was busier there. The people were out and about doing different activities. They seemed to have quite a few staff members who were able to take care of the residents there. They do a lot of outdoor stuff like fishing, and they go to the park
