To me, Brookdale Brighton Colorado felt like a home when I walked in. The staff has always been helpful and they genuinely seem to care about their residents. My father's receiving a lot of attention and he's been pretty happy with the food. They have exercises, bands that come in, bingo games, a movie room that he can go to if he chooses to, and different things like that. It seems like everybody's happy when they participate in the activities. The facilities are also very nice. They're comfortable little places for seniors to live in.

Brookdale Brighton is a very nice place and they have all the amenities. They have exercise rooms, rehabilitation, they offer a lot of activities, and memory care. They have just about everything there that my mom would need. The room was nice. It had a little kitchenette, the room was a good size, and it was open, light, and airy. The staff was wonderful. Everyone met us at the door and introduced themselves. We walked through the dining area and they were playing the piano; the dining area was nice. They were excellent people, the staff was great, the rooms were nice, and they also had a nice garden area.

Brookdale Brighton seemed OK, and the rooms were very nice. The lady who took me on the tour was extremely nice and very informational. The rooms were more like a studio. They had a great room with a library. I saw a calendar of activities and I saw one going on.

My father stayed at Brookdale Brighton before he passed away. It was a wonderful place, he had wonderful care, he wasnt always easy to get along with, but the staff was exceptional in working with him and tending to his needs. Its a very nice community, very modern, very welcoming, comfortable, and just all around very nice. They have good activities and good care. He had a studio, theres area for exercise in the outdoor courtyard, and for walking and things. It was reasonably priced.

Brookdale Brighton was nice and the people that I met were nice. It seemed well-kept, but it didnt feel like home or very welcoming. They had a bus that takes the residents to medical appointments or grocery stores. They also had programs, entertainment, and card games. The dining room was very nice and the food was quite good.

I went to Sterling House because it was across the road from where my mom lived. The gentleman I talked to was friendly, nice, helpful and he gave the information I needed to make my decision. However, my mom could not afford the rate of the facility. I would recommend this place to others.

My Mom has been in Sterling House for two weeks. They were not able to keep her meds in order so we decided to transfer her to a Nursing Home because she's in need of more care, like 24 hour care, since she's been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I think they needed more people and staff.

Brighton is its own little community"”a nice factory town, with plenty of amenities.
This is one of the more modern-looking care facilities in the area"”nice and clean on the outside. There is also an covered sitting area with rattan chairs and tile floor. On the inside, the common area has a large glass birdcage that's a focal point in the den, with fireplace and books and a desk. The décor provides a homey feel.
The communal dining room is elegantly set with tablecloths and cloth napkins"”and the meals are fair to good.
Lots of activities are offered, including a range of arts and crafts and a cooking club.
The staff has a lot of interaction with residents because the facility is rather small, with room for 60; the staff to resident ration is 3 to 1, which is quite good. Assessments are done continually, which is a rather rare benefit. There is also a doctor who visits once a month, but no dedicated memory care is available.
Cost of housing starts at $2,800 a month for a studio; $3,000 for one bedrooms. Beyond that, the care is customized per person--$88 per month for shower assistance, for example, so added care can mount up to be quite costly. Sterling House accepts Medicaid, Medicare, longterm care insurance and private pay to cover costs.
In fact, the biggest drawback for many potential residents may be the price. For others, it might be their mental health too, since memory care is not specifically offered here; while it might be possible for a resident requiring memory care to stay, the additional in-home personal care would be costly.
