When you walked into San Marino Retirement, it was clean, warm, and inviting. The people were friendly. The residents seemed very happy, and they actually invited us to some of their events, (even though my mom is not a resident there). We got to see how the community really was firsthand. They don't have a high turnover rate of staff. We met the chef when we were at a Mother's day brunch, and she'd been there for 15 years. The receptionist had been there for 10 years, too. The staff evidently was happy working there because they've been there that long. I've been dealing with this one woman. I email back and forth a lot because she invites us to events. The receptionist helped us do a tour of one of the two-bedroom, one bath units, so my brother could see the facility as well. The food was amazing. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and they were all just super helpful.

San Marino Retirement was very nice and very pleasant. We met people there. The girl who took me around did a very good job, and she made sure I saw not only the people that work there but also a few of the residents and I talked to them. It was a very pleasant experience. Some of the residents were active and friendly. They were out and doing something, sitting, watching TV, and some of them were outside, walking around. It looked quite clean. I was very favorably impressed with San Marino. There's an open space right behind it, so you can walk out there.

I visited a friend at San Marino Retirement. The grounds are very nice, they are well maintained, and they have places you can walk to there. If you have a car, they are not very far from Wadsworth, which has a lot of shopping. From what I've seen in the individual duplexes, they're very spacious. The living room and dining room are all open concepts. The kitchen is small, the bedrooms are ample, and they seem to be well-maintained. I can only speak for the independent living, my friend's home. It is very homey, and spacious. She has a patio, and she has trees nearby. She can plant stuff in her little yard, and she has an individual closed patio in front of her house that is kind of close to the street, and she can go out there.

This place is very good, I live here for 12 months and has great affection and haste with 2 employees who are exceptional Patrícia P. from the administration and Juan D., they are friendly and attentive people, they never fail to serve me quickly and always with a positive result ! I recommend this place for anyone to live, although the value is quite salty!

San Marino Retirement had a very nice environment and it's in the area where my father lived in, so it was familiar. It was an older place, but priced well with good services and good food. They have all kinds of things. Whatever you might want, you can get it there. He's in the independent facility with services. He has meals, housekeeping, there's a shuttle, and linen services. He doesn't need the assisted living yet, but it is available.

We looked at the one-bedroom independent living apartments in San Marino Retirement for my brother. They were bigger than the studios and very nice. The whole place was very nice. They had a place for activities, and they go to museums and on field trips. They had different levels of care, like assisted living and skilled nursing, aside from independent living. My brother could furnish his own apartment, and the three meals were included in the price, which was definitely reasonable. My husband and I liked their patio homes, and we could have our dog there. It's a large place with a variety of things. The staff was very friendly, helpful with the residents, and seemed very happy. They offered us lunch, and the food looked very good.

My father has lived in 4 different units as his needs changed so we have a lot of experience at this facility. I cannot say enough about the staff. Everyone shows genuine concern and each resident is greeted with a smile and conversation. I feel the facility is clean and well kept. The staff is professional and caring. My father has been happy with all of his living arrangements and my family feels blessed that he is surrounded by good and caring people.

Wow this place is old. Had a friend move there and wish she had stayed in her home. I don't recommend it unless you have no family to help.

Friendly staff. The food is not very good though. My friend skips alot of meal's and buys groceries for when the food is not good. She had been spoiled at the meridian with top chefs over there. To bad the meridian doesn't have assisted living I've also tried the food at San Marino. It was horrible.

Brought my Mom here and I must say, the place is old and shabby, the maintenance crew were not very helpful. All in all my advise is there is much nicer places at the same price.

I liked San Marino, and it’s affordable. They were decorating for Christmas, and things were getting hectic for them that day, but I can live there. They have scheduled activities.

I visited San Marino. The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice. I had lunch there, and it was OK. The room had very good closet space. They had placed new carpeting down, and everything had been painted.

Our visit to San Marino Retirement Community was very nice. The one room I saw was very nice. The residents seemed very happy. It was very affordable, but it was just not located where we needed it to be. When I talked about mom’s needs, level of care, and her desires, they do not permit hospice care, so that and the distance from me was the reason we rejected it .

It seemed that the rooms at San Marino Community were real nice. The place is real clean. They were updating the units as they went along if they needed new tile or new carpet. It was kept up real nice and looked well-maintained. The 1-bedroom unit was in good shape and it seemed to be roomy enough. They had all the usual safety features, the pull cord, and plenty of room in the bathroom. They had card night for people to play cards. They had a little movie theater. They had movie night, plus the bus. They had little trips here and there. The staff seemed very friendly. A couple of them said hi as we went by. The only drawback for us would have been that they do not handle Medicaid patients, so if they got Medicaid, they would have to move.

I had my father in San Marino Retirement Living. He lived there for at least 2 years. He was in independent living. He could no longer function there, so that was why I had to move him. I didn’t move him to their assisted living because it was really small and I was worried that he would feel too confined. Their memory care is even smaller, and so I didn’t move him there. I absolutely loved the staff there. The food was really good. They had an independent cooking staff and independent cleaning staff. It was kind of a restaurant where they had several items off a menu that they could choose from. The amount of food that they gave them seemed fine. They offered desserts and various beverages. They can opt for a meal plan where they can go into the dining room and have a couple of meals a day, or they can have one meal a day, or they can just cook their own meals. They have the patio homes and then they have the apartments, which is where my father was. They had their own bedroom, bath, living area, a little kitchenette area, and a patio. They had weekly cleaning. They would provide linens and change linens for them. They had a beautiful garden area that people could walk in. They had walking trails right there. They have on-site laundry, a little barber shop, a little private library, a game room, and they have a little bus that would take the residents out. You could sign them up, and they would take them out at least 2 or 3 times a week out to lunch, out to a show. They really were good at engaging the residents. It was wonderful. Their activity coordinator was fabulous. She just loved my dad, and she went to his new facility to visit. They went to make sure he was OK. They just did that on their own. They loved him and got to know him. I was really impressed with them.
