I love The Gardens at St. Elizabeth. The senior living part is fabulous, but the assisted living part is old and not easy to get around in. There are elevators that have to be taken, too. The activities looked very good, and the menus were great. If my mom could live in senior living, I would have put her there in a minute because she is Catholic and would love their chapel. I like everything about it, except the assisted living. For somebody with dementia, I couldn't see my mom being comfortable there.

We looked at a lot of them. My mother is a retired professional woman that travelled around the world and has a Catholic influence. The Gardens at St. Elizabeth has just really worked for us. It is a beautiful facility with a chapel and has independent living. They have a huge tower which oversees a panoramic view of the mountain of Colorado -- a view by the city -- and also a panoramic view of the skylight. There is assisted living piece and dementia care. The majority of the staff is fairly helpful. The activities director is outstanding and inspiring. He always encourages people to be part of everything and to get out of their rooms. Some could be a little more supportive in helping with the actual hygiene and care of the residents. The food is definitely above average. They offer a choice in each and every day. For all of the meals, there is always a blue plate special and an additional choice. If you go to the main dining room, there is always an a la carte meal that you could choose from.

My mom has moved into the Gardens of St. Elizabeth in May. It's an older place, the food is very good, they have lots of activities, and mom has gone twice to Central City with the group, so she very much enjoyed it. The staff does a very good job.

The facility is well staffed and very clean. The tenants have their own personal belonging around them and the halls are hung with picture/chairs/tables with puzzels, chess opr checkers, etc just like they would see in their own home. Activities are provided to keep them as active as possible. If the person cannot or does not want to eat what is served for a meal, they provide another meal that is eaten.
