He lived at Magnolia Place for a year and a half. It was not a good place, mainly because the gentleman that I moved there was older. There was one older man there who only spoke Spanish, and then there were some younger guys there who had drug or alcohol issues at some point in their lives. I remember it being very homey, a little run-down, but not real bad. They put us in a double at first, and then they moved him to their smallest single, which I think was like 10x10 or so. It was minimal, like nothing was decorated. It had a twin bed in there and some shelves. I wasn't highly impressed. They took Medicare. They had a menu. He didn't rave about the food, but he said it was good, and they seemed to have a lot of that. They never spoke of any activities. They all sat around out back. Every time I went over there, that's where everybody was. They all spoke Spanish, and he didn't understand Spanish, and he was prejudiced. I couldn't really understand what they were saying because they were talking in Spanish, and he was away from his friends, his family, and everybody. He also had a lot of complaints about them not answering the bell in the middle of the night. He had a lot of times that they never came. The staff was really friendly. I would think an activity or two would be really good.
