I am responsible for a resident that I first placed at Chelsea Place over 4 years ago. For the first 3 years, I could not say enough great things about the CP. Truly. There will always be day-to-day glitches, but CP staff and management confronted those glitches quickly, professionally & compassionately. Unfortunately things have changed dramatically over the last year. The facility shows well. The rooms are adequate & the staff try to make the environment visually pleasant. If a resident is highly independent, the facility might be a good fit, but if the resident requires more assistance, interaction guidance, or individualized care, CP does not meet those needs. The exemplary commitment to the health & well-being of the residents is not longer evident. The activities appear to be well executed, but are fairly standard and mundane, and not geared toward individuality. The food is better than average, but ONLY available at pre-set meal times. My charge's mental capacity has diminished in 4 years, and he is not consistent or predictable in his eating patterns, which is very normal as dementia progresses. He does not sit down at the prescribed times and staff does not ensure he gets a meal when he is hungry, so he does not get the necessary nourishment. Additional snacks and food options are no longer readily available throughout the day and my charge has continued to lose weight. The staff does not appear to be very responsive, and when I make unscheduled visits, I usually find an abundance of residents just sitting around listlessly with no staff in attendance, or if there is staff, they are almost always conversing with each other and rarely are they interacting with the residents. Too often, I get to overhear staff complaining about other employees, residents, or management. This creates a very unprofessional and unpleasant situation to witness so frequently. It can be traumatic to move individuals experiencing dementia and yet there has been a significant number who have chosen to move their loved ones out of CP the last year. This is evidence of a facility that is rapidly going downhill. In the last 15 months there have been 3 different Executive Directors, and most other management positions have seen as many changes also. It makes communication extremely difficult and unreliable, which has eroded the trust I placed in CP for many years. I would strongly caution anyone who is looking at CP for a loved one, to examine it closely to ensure it will meet their needs for their loved one. If CP is chosen, you should be prepared to dedicate a large amount of your time monitoring your loved one's progress and well-being. Financially, CP is more expensive than many comparable facilities so you could probably find a facility that would provide better value for your money.

The tour I had of Chelsea Place Memory Care was OK, but there was a situation. When we walked down to the first hall, a lady came running out of her room saying there was someone in her bed; someone ended up in the wrong room. When they took her out, she was in a wheelchair. I wonder how if she's in a wheelchair, she ended up in the wrong room. It concerned me. They were doing crafts, and they had a table of 5 or 6 people. It appeared that only 2 or 3 of them were participating. The rest were just sitting there. It also seems like the ratio of staff to residents wasn't a good fit for me. It seemed like they should have more staff. The staff told me there are 32 residents. There were 2 sides, which are the south side and the north side of the building. Each one was different. The kitchen was small ,and the craft area was kind of small too. It's OK, but I wouldn't take my mom there. The staff was very nice and thorough on my questions. The thing is, I need to know someone's going to be there for my mom. The staff to resident ratio is very important to me. I didn't see anything wrong with upkeep, and there was a maintenance guy. We were in the hall, so I'm sure he was doing his job and keeping things upright.

My mother moved into Chelsea Place. It is excellent. They provide good care. Their staff is truly caring. When my father was a resident, it was excellent, and it's still a good place. They do offer other types of care, but it's not their primary purpose. I did meet a couple of residents that were there just to recover from injuries who had physical problems, but it's a memory care center. The food is excellent. My mother has been eating every bit of food on her plate, which she wasn't doing before, and she always says it's delicious. They have activities during the day. They also have field trips. I work during the day and can't go visit during those times, so I've not been able to be there when the activities occur, but I hear about them.

My father is a resident of Chelsea Place. The staff is nice and seem to care for the residents. They do have a lot of activities that the residents can do both inside the facility and outside the facility. They have different walks that they do in the community. They have high school students that come in, they will go to Rockies games and different sporting events. It's nice and modern looking. It would be good if my dad would engage in anything.

My 87 yr old parents left there one week ago. My wheelchair bound father left with a Stage 4 decubitus due to staff ignorance and neglect. My sweet mother lost 26 pounds. They should not be taking care of ANY patients, much less ones with dementia that are completely dependent on them for every need. I deeply regret believing their lies and trusting my parents to them. RUN.

I am extremely thankful to the community at Chelsea Place for giving me so many wonderful friends and connections with the residents here. As a student, I've had had the opportunity to volunteer over 100 hours through Regis Jesuit High School and on my own. My wonderful friends here have such amazing personalities and stories. Everytime we have a dance party or venture on an excursion, it is amazing to see their eyes light up. I've only known the residents since they've been at Chelsea Place and so I accept them for their entirety and who they are now. I love digging into their stories and past, but also just loving them for who they are right now in this present moment.

This facility is by far the best facility our mom was in. There is a lot of light and space, there are many activities, there is music or the TV on, there is just a lot going on. Some facilities just "house" your loved one. This was like a home for Mom. She got better food than our dad who is in an Assisted Living Facility. I would recommend this facility for anyone who has a loved one dealing with this horrible disease.

I am most grateful to the amazing team at Chelsea Place for all of their help and care for my dad, especially the extra attention he was given during his recent health concerns. In particular, the Clinical Services Director's expertise, patience, persistence and overall compassion were invaluable. I also called to check on Dad a few times and to get the QMAPs' perspectives on how he was doing. Each person was as kind and reassuring as always. And I have no doubt the caregivers were gentle and attentive. Thanks to everyone, he was back in the game in no time and I felt he didn't skip a beat in his routine. I speak with my dad on a daily basis, and he regularly comments on how clean his room is (this has always been important to him). He tells me how busy he is and how "they are always bringing something yummy" for him to eat. The activities are varied and creative. This is also true of the food, allowing residents to break the monotony and celebrate the simple things. Chelsea Place continues to provide me with the utmost peace of mind that my dad is well-cared for, safe, understood and, above all, loved. This peace of mind is priceless, given that I live halfway across the country. My continued thanks to each and every person at Chelsea Place. What they do is not easy ~ and yet they do it so very well.

Chelsea Place has an amazing and well-trained care staff, intelligent and highly dedicated nurse, first rate chef, and a lot of stimulating activities to engage each resident. I can't say enough about how well Chelsea Place is managed, how well organized the management and staff are, and how superb the communication is between families, management, and care staff. As a team, they work hard to ensure the needs of each resident are met, focusing on the details of what each resident needs to be very happy and well cared for at all times. This high level of care is truly felt and appreciated by residents and family members alike! My mother has lived at Chelsea Place for one year. She continues to enjoy the wonderful activities, the kind and engaging care staff, great food, friendships and outings on the bus. She has been happy at Chelsea Place since day one! I echo her sentiments when she says that "Chelsea Place" is a wonderful place to be.

Service is going well. My mom still begs me to take her home every time I come to visit and is so hard to leave when it’s time to go home. I have a few questions, but I hope will get answered in my meeting with the caregivers next week.

Chelsea Place is focused on dementia and Alzheimer’s training, and they just recently received three awards. The neighborhood is convenient, it’s adjacent to a residential community, a church, and it’s just perfect. I just had an excellent meal with my wife. This place was a perfect match for my wife.

We choose Chelsea Place for my stepdad because they are obviously very knowledgeable when it comes to dementia and Alzheimer's. The people working there are accommodating and caring. Their dining room seems good. It is a new, clean facility. The rooms have a beautiful, pleasant courtyard. It is not as homey as some of the other places I have seen. They have activities, like animal visitors including miniature horses.

Chelsea Place is THE VERY BEST in Alzheimer's care. The staff treats my mom like she is family - showering her with personalized care, warm interactions, and thoughtful modifications to provide her with great comfort. I never knew this level of care and expertise existed for people with Alzheimer's - Chelsea Place sets a high standard for what is possible!
