I visited Carmel Oaks. They have breakfast as part of your payment, and they have meals that you can buy. You don't have to buy into them and that's what we were looking for as an independent living (where we do our own cooking). They have underground parking, which we liked a lot. The tour we took was very professional. The people were very kind. They don't have a room open. They have to get permission from the residents to be able to show the kind of apartment that we wanted to see, and all the people we saw were very kind, very gracious, and very happy. It had a couple of things that the other place didn't have that were kinda neat. They gave us a sheet that had all the activities for the month. They have art classes, which my wife will be interested in. They had a TV room where they did virtual reality things. We saw the dining room and people were eating in there. We saw the food that was available to them, but we did not eat there.
