My husband is currently in Vista Cove Care Center at Santa Paula. They're very guarded because of COVID. They're like a hospital and you can't go in there without a mask. They won't even let you go in to visit unless there's an appointment. I appreciate what they're doing, but it is frustrating for me because I want to go see him and I have to make an appointment. I know it takes so long, but I understand why they have to do that so it's OK. I asked if someone could call me and let me know how he's doing, and the lady in charge of the physical therapy department called. She was very nice. It looks very nice; it has nice chairs outside where you can sit in the shade and have umbrella-covered tables. And in the back, they have sort of a tent so you don't have to be in the sun. So they bring him out and we can sit outside and talk to him. His insurance is paying for it. I'm satisfied. He's safe and in good condition and he seems happy when I see him. He's not crabby or angry or anything, so I'm assuming he's content.

Vista Cove was nice, but very crowded with small rooms. However, the staff was good, and the residents were happy. I was not able to try the food, but I saw it, and it looked good. It was very clean, but it was an older building, so it was darker, though they had done a lot of work to try to make it prettier. They did a good job there, but it was crowded. My wife's father had been in there. He enjoyed it and thought it was OK, but my wife did not want to go there.
