We actually used Lorian because they were provided to us through the doctor's office. It was only for a short period of time, about six weeks. They were a fine match for my mother-in-law and we were actually satisfied with their services. The caregivers were really good. They were very personable. But, her Medicare provider changed and that provider didn't use Lorian, so we couldn't use them anymore. We would have loved to have continued using them. My mother-in-law really liked all their people.

First nurse from Florian told me she was a supervisor; she knew very little and helped me not at all; later I learned she is a field trainee. Second nurse arrived late, was alarmed to see I have a cat, declared that he has violent reactions to cat fur, but refused to go back to the office so another could come out. Rather, he spent 15 minutes of his allotted 30 minutes examining all the chairs in my living and dining rooms, then with the sigh of a resigned martyr, he chose one with the most cat fur and began our session.
He not only contradicted what others had told me, he contradicted himself repeatedly. He left in a huff when I refused to sign a digital signature that was attached to no text whatever. Then came 2 good nurses. Long period to get insurance approval for more visits. Approved, one evening I had a call; "this is one of Lorian's nurses; can I come see you now? When I said it would not be convenient, she assured me someone else would call me the following day. No one did; that was a Friday. No one called over the weekend, nor on Monday. On Tuesday 8 AM, a message left with no name, saying "I'm on my way to your house [no indication how far away she was; did I have time to take out the dog? I decided not to risk missing her. An hour passed. I made 3 calls to Lorian office and each time someone assured me that someone else would get back to me. That didn't happen. After 2.5 hours of waiting, my dog had urinated on the carpet and I had postponed my sitz bath not wanting to be in the tub when the nurse came. I called again, said my piece, and said I found the contempt for a patient/client appalling. Communication is dreadful, competence is questionable, and I find the accumulation not only inconvenient but insulting as well.
