My father-in-law moved into the Holiday The Bonaventure. He's in a two-bedroom, two-bath, downstairs unit, which is easy for him to get down to the community area for dinners, lunches, and breakfasts. The transition was pretty easy. We got a lot of help there at the facility with Connie and James, those folks that took care of us, and Joseph, the maintenance gentleman. They have their own extra health care there, and it's called Little Help with Rita. And her company is helping them out with making sure he's transitioning well from where he was to down here.
They have studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedrooms, and it's a very nice facility. We had lunch with them and you get a selection for lunch. They have a lot of activities. They have an activities director. They have bingo, a movie day and night, and they have a card room. They have a pool table for those who would like to play pool, and then in the summer, they have an outside meeting area where they barbecue when it's nice out. They have their own shuttle to take you to your appointments. Anything within 15 miles, it's no cost, which is nice. What drew us to this facility is what you get for your money.

The Bonaventure had a nice feeling to it. We just liked everything about it. The only thing we didn't like about it is it's out in the middle of nowhere. Other than that, it was our favorite. The staff all seemed to enjoy working there. They interacted with the residents, and they all knew everybody's name.
It just seemed like a fun place to work. They have movies, art classes, pottery, cards, and a pool. They took trips. They have a lot of activities.
The rooms were very roomy. The best thing about it was the size of the apartments. They were by far the biggest. They have a barbershop, a salon, and a library, but we didn't look at any of those. I just saw signs for them. They offered to fix us something, but we simply weren't hungry. They invited us back any time to eat.

The Bonaventure was great. It was a modern facility. We were greeted professionally. My friend and I were treated kindly upon the tour. We met with their marketing specialist, so they were able to give accurate information on rates and possible options for paying for things, or the insurances that were made available. It was nice to see that the dining room was full and clean. We were greeted by another resident there who was friendly and outgoing. I was mostly impressed by the low rate of COVID cases. We saw the library, TV room, and lounge. The outdoor patio area was a highlight because the staff said that a lot of the activities and events were done outside in the grassy area during the spring and summer. So that was nice to know that they make an effort to get residents outside. They had a full refrigerator in one of the one-bedroom studios.

The Bonaventure was beautiful and very well maintained. The person who assisted me during the tour was very helpful and very informative. There wasn't really anything going on because it was right after lunch period, but there was a lot of residents mingling around, and talking with each other, which was nice to see. They have like a media room and an activities room downstairs. They do bingo and whatnot down there, and they have other functions that they use that space for. The staff took me into two different rooms. I was interested in seeing a studio and a one-bedroom, and they were very nice. It was the first one I looked at, but I was rather impressed. The staff was very friendly. It was a really nice experience.

The Bonaventure was pretty clean. They had a good Covid record in that they had no cases during Covid among the residents. I like that they had transportation available for their residents. They had food three times a day or you could ask for food to be set aside for you, if you happen to be out and about. I like that they offered housecleaning services once a week and cleaning of bed linens and other linens. I like that they had scheduled social events. I like that they had IHSS (staff readily available on site if needed). The staff during the tour was very informative, very upbeat, and positive. She offered us to be able to eat with them, but we arrived too late. She prepared take home packages of the food for us to try, so I thought that was very generous.
My mom is very challenged with mobility. She has a lot of pain in her legs, so it's kind of a long route from the rooms that we saw back to the dining area and stuff. I wasn't quite sure how that would work for my mom. It's not as easy for her to move around. It's very different from having your own home where you can park your car in the driveway and then only a few steps in. There would be a lot more movements required, which is good if you're in good shape; it is not as good, if you're not in good shape. We'd have to figure out a way for my mom (like a mechanized wheelchair or scooter) for her in order to make that facility work for her. One of the rooms had sort of a patio area attached to it. I think one of them had a balcony as well. It seemed like the landscaping around the area was nice, but I didn't really investigate common outdoor gathering areas.

The staff at The Bonaventure is doing the best that he can according to corporate rules. He is great. I enjoy the people who come here to stay. The rooms are of good size and really nice. The meals leave nothing to be desired. There are a lot of activities to keep us all busy.

What I like most about living here at The Bonaventure is the variety and availability of access to many activities. No time to be bored.

There's no kitchen inside each room at The Bonaventure, but I think that's pretty normal for those places. We liked it though, they were nice. They were a lot nicer than the other ones we saw. They had a social hall and they had activities. There were a lot of people that were out and about, which was cool. It seemed more social than the others. The staff was really nice too.

The Bonaventure was our number-one choice. My relative is waiting to see if he can get some VA benefits so he can afford to go there. It's very clean and very nice. They're very resident oriented. We were very impressed.

I moved my mom and dad to the Bonaventure in July 2019. My mom passed away and my dad is still there. The facility is really beautiful and well kept. The staff is wonderful. My dad has made lots of good friends there. It is a great independent living facility!

I went to the Bonaventure. I wasn't much impressed, they didn't have a lot of stuff most places did, but they had basically where you have your meals and people are taking care of you, but that's not part of the rent. The staff member who attended to me was very good. I didn't have the opportunity to try the food, but it looked good, the facilities looked good. It was OK, but wasn't great. They have basically major rooms that you can relax in, they have a library, but they don't have a jacuzzi, a swimming pool, and a lot of facilities do. The facility was very clean.

I really liked The Bonaventure. The general manager was very good. I've never been to one of these places before, so it's hard to compare, but he was knowledgeable, bright, gave me a good tour, and answered all my questions. It was clean, had a really good light throughout the whole facility, and the gardens were very nice. They haven't had any COVID cases. They've been very strict. I was very pleased. There were some residents walking around. They just reopened the dining room, but it wasn't in service at the time and it was limited. The staff member knows that place inside and out. He knows all the staff and names of the residents. There were pathways around the building to walk, and the gardens were nice.

The Bonaventure was good, very clean, and very neat. They're honoring the COVID-19 protocol. There's great follow-up. They call me and check in with me to see what's going on. The rooms were very clean. The staff was very upbeat, very energetic, young, and knowledgeable.

We moved my mother into The Bonaventure, and she's very happy. Everything's good. She's met new friends there. I'm very pleased with the staff, the apartment, and the services they offer. My husband and I stayed there; they offer a suite that you can rent. The food was fine for us. It's a nice facility.

The Bonaventure seemed really nice, but it didn't really suit my needs because it's just senior living. Everything seemed nice and like a very pleasant community. If it provided assisted living, I would certainly consider it. I had lunch there, and it was fine. The building had three floors. And seemed like a fairly new community so it's well kept-up. Their food was nothing spectacular, but it was good. They had an open space as well.

I visited the Bonaventure, and it's beautiful, but very expensive. It's absolutely gorgeous. Everybody seemed happy there, and the staff was very nice.

I liked The Bonaventure and the guy who took me around, and he sounded like he was interested in what he was doing. The food looked pretty good, and the people walking around seemed pretty happy. The rooms looked fine, but there was nothing remarkable about them. The building was very nice and clean and had a very open feeling about it.

Going to The Bonaventure was a great experience. It was a fantastic facility. The staff was great. The accommodations were above and beyond; they reminded me very much of a hotel in a positive way. They would probably be my top choice price-wise.
The dining room was nice, not quite like a restaurant, but they tried to make it restaurant-style with the fact that they did linens as far as napkins and the plate settings. They kept a menu out and discussed it a little bit with us. We were very impressed and pleased with the community.
The environment and the atmosphere felt light and bright where some of the other places were smaller and darker. It had good vaulted ceilings, and it felt like you were in a huge restaurant. The Bonaventure was altogether. You had people on different levels and different floors, and I felt it was more a community. I liked everything else about it more than I did a couple of the other places we looked at.

The Bonaventure wasn't quite as nice as other, but there were different room plans. The mood felt a little heavier. It wasn't unclean, but it didn't feel as warm. They were very reasonable, like you get cable, room, and food included, so I was impressed that there weren't a lot of things that you're going to pay for. Their dining hall was quite large, which wasn't bad, but it felt more like going to camp where you're all in the cafeteria together. They offered meals and had a van that takes you wherever you wanted to go and on shopping trips. They had a library club, which was important to me because my father-in-law likes to read.

The Bonaventure is great. It is very nicely kept-up. The help is very nice, everyone is very friendly, and my family member actually loves it. The rooms are not huge but a good size. He has a little kitchen, a nice living room, a nice big bedroom, a big bathroom, and a patio.

I liked The Bonaventure. The rooms were a little small, but at least they had balconies, and I liked that. I thought it was a nice open floor plan in the main building. You walk in and to your right, there's something; in the center is the dining room, and to your left is a very open space where the administration main counter is. I really like the layout. The main building was well laid out, I like the dining room, and I like the open feel of it. It's very large-looking.

I visited The Bonaventure for my mom. I think it was a good facility, but it didn’t have garden apartments. The staff seemed very nice, but the environment was more like apartment living.

We got my parents into Bonaventure. The staff is so accommodating. There’s two sets of managers on the premises, and they take turns, so there’s someone there 24/7. They have their own apartment, and there’s a huge dining room downstairs. They’ve got everything there: a beauty shop, a gym, a library, an activity director, and a bus, so they have their own transportation. The doors are locked at 8:00, and they have a key like in a hotel in case that they come after 8:00, so they can get in.

We've got my mother at The Bonaventure as of August 11th. The facility had exactly what I needed. The location was good for us, and the staff is good. They have organized activities, games and exercise, three meals a day, church, a beauty parlor on the premises, and a workout room. She is in a one-bedroom, which is great. I've eaten one meal there when I toured the place, and I thought it was OK, but my mom is happy with it, and that's the important thing.

The Bonaventure was nice but not as nice as any other retirement communities. It's a little dated and worn. The rooms were OK -- large but not too modern -- and could be improved. The staff was nice, so was the dining room. Overall, they should do more inside renovation of the rooms and the hallways.

If I were going to choose a place for my mother-in-law, it would be The Bonaventure. I really liked that place. The prices were very good. Everything seemed good. The cafeteria was very nice. They would leave you alone if you wanted to be left alone. If you needed assistance, they had some people on site that you could pay extra for, and they would come in and do what was needed. She was a diabetic, and at some point she could not handle her own shots, but they would do that for her. That was mostly what I liked about it.

I visited them a couple of years ago. It was another situation where they have no outside space. I didn't like that and neither did my parents. The rooms were OK. They generally did not have an area for a kitchen, so you were really dependent on their dining room. Bonaventure was structured dining between this hour and this hour for the three meals, and there was very little capability unless you went up to the highest price. For the price that my parents could afford, they probably couldn't even have a hot plate. It would be very difficult with the way it was configured. You have to go to the very top price to be able to have any area to have a little refrigerator or anything. I don't remember if they had balconies, but they did not have like a garden or anywhere to sit outside. They had a lot of activities, and they had a couple of activity rooms, so I was happy with that part. They had a big library, which my parents liked because they were big readers.
We tried the food, but this was so long ago, and I wrote a complaint about it. I don't know what the problem was, but they ran out of food, and we were served very last. When you are trying to woo someone, they should be first. My mom is a very high maintenance person, and she was freaking out because she needed to get home to feed her cat, so she was flipping out, and it was very tense. We sat there for about 45 minutes before we got I think it was like warmed up chicken finger sticks or something, and everyone else had roast chicken, so I can't really judge the food. I just know that they made a mistake if they wanted to woo prospective residents.
The staff was very nice and very accommodating. They really sat for a long time trying to figure out how to work with my parents' budget. One thing that is nice about the Bonaventure, some of the rooms as I remember do have the ocean view, which a lot of people really like. You can actually see the ocean, and it was a pretty view. Both sides were a really pretty view because you either look at the mountainside or the ocean, so the atmosphere was very nice.

I really like Bonaventure, but I haven’t decided to move in there and get to that point. I just like the facility better; I like the quality appeals. I talked to quite a few of the tenants, and they were overwhelmed with it -- how nice it is, how clean it is, and how good the staff is. They have a full schedule of activities, and of all the ones that I looked at, I was very impressed with it; that’s why I have decided to have to go there. The dining area was beautiful, and the rooms were absolutely fine. I have a small dog, and downstairs they have patio access.

I love The Bonaventure in Ventura. It was a beautiful place to live. The air was clean, and there was lots of green grass. The place was very high class. The staff was very nice, and they have nice rooms. Everything was great, but I don't think I'm going there because of the price. They are very good though.

The Bonaventure is where my mother ended up. I chose it because the price was right, and it was a clean and very nice facility. The staff is great. It is sort of luxurious, beautiful appointment, brand new facility -- just very nice. They have a number of available units that are available at all different costs. They are also geared for taking care of people and looking out for their needs. It is just a very caring facility, it's very beautifully groomed, and everything is very nice. The food is good.

My visit at Bonaventure was great. They have a gentleman's club, and they would go to Hooters once a week. Their rooms were really great. Their dining room was great. The staff was great too.

The facility was really nice and the staff was very friendly. They answered all of our questions and gave us a nice tour at The Bonaventure. The location is nice as well as the rooms and they were of adequate size. We went at lunch time and the food looked really good. It's near shopping and restaurants and they have their own transportation for doctor's appointment.

The whole place looked light and inviting. They had balconies and patios, which were very nice. It appeared pleasant and it's a place I would probably go to, if I had to. However, they allowed smoking and I would be miserable if I got next door with somebody who smoked.
