I will try my best to describe how wonderful were these amazing workers at The Palm. My mother stayed there after a massive operation on her spine. Her stay was followed with much care and kindness . My family observed the dedication of so many people I would like to mention them here. Thank you all. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc after being transported via ambulance to the Kaiser Permanente ER, Sand Canyon facility, in Irvine on May 29, 2018. The ER transferred me to Palm Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center on May 29, 2018 since I couldn't walk and I needed a 24 hour round the clock skilled nursing facility for my condition. I stayed at Palm Terrace from May 29, 2018 through June 3, 2018 and was very disappointed with my stay. Firstly and upon check in, I was given a bed that was too short. The bed was a standard hospital bed designed for someone up to 6 ft. 1 inches. However, I and I'm 6 ft. 2 inches. I complained to my doctor and as a quick fix, the foot-board was removed but the bed was still too short. I needed a longer bed because while I slept, the foot-board pressed against my feet and caused pain in my legs due to nerve compression. Nothing was done to correct this issue for 3 days. The foot board was finally removed on May 31, 2018. Secondly, I was issued a flimsy walker that was one foot too low for me, (which exacerbated my herniated disc because I had to bend forward to reach the handles). The walker was finally remedied (only after repeated requests) with a larger and more sturdy walker a couple days later. Thirdly, I had to share rooms with someone else who was diagnosed with a bed sore on May 30, 2018, so Palm Terrace exchanged his regular mattress for an air mattress just one day into my stay. The air pump for the mattress was making noise 24 hours a day 7 days a week and I couldn't sleep due to the noise my entire stay. Because I shared rooms, all of my medical information was discussed in front of my roomate and all of his medical information was discussed in front of me. This is a violation of HIPAA laws. Fourthly, the Palm Terrace staff comes in every morning at 5am to wake you up and make sure that you didn't wet the bed so this further aggravated the possibility of a good night's sleep. And finally, the call button, (a button you push to alert the nurse to come to your room), was broken from the time I checked in until the day I left. I complained on Wednesday May 30, 2018 but nothing was done until Friday June 1, 2018 when the maintenance man said that he would have to order a part. On Saturday June 3, 2018, the call button was finally fixed. The commode was also acting up and wasn't flushing properly on Wednesday May 30, 2018 so maintenance came in to fix it. However, it backed up again on Saturday June 1, 2018. Apparently, the commode in my room has had problems flushing in the past so this is an ongoing issue with this commode. On May 30th, I met with my doctor and he wanted me to stay for eight days until the following Wednesday June 6, 2018. However, for the reasons explained in this complaint, I decided to leave 3 days early on June 3, 2018. I had a terrible experience the whole time I was at Palm Terrace and on the day I left, Sunday June, 3rd (3 days early), the nurse assistant spilled water on my brand new and very expensive Apple Macbook Pro and I had to take it into the Apple store to get it diagnosed for the problems I was having after the water got spilled on it. Apple said that there was internal water damage that caused my MacBook Pro to not work correctly. Apple also said that there was water corrosion throughout the MacBook. This damage was caused by the nurse assistant at this facility from the spilled water. Then, on Friday, July 20, 2018, my MacBook pro completely failed and will not recognize a charge on any of the 4 charging ports. I have complained directly to Palm Terrace administration and have been getting the run around. I would like to have an immediate resolution as this issue has gone on for too long. The injury to my back was bad enough. Now, Palm Terrace is adding insult to my injury. If I could give a negative star rating, I would.

Palm Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center was a very nice facility. They had very nice grounds and very nice staff. I think they had cafeteria style food. The rooms were small, and they were not as quaint in decorations, but the facility was nice and decorated. I found this to be more structured and hospitalized.

My mother suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on December 20, 2012. She was first transferred to an acute care facility for rehabilitation, but wasn't strong enough at that time to do the required rehabilitation. She was accepted by palm Terrace and transferred recently. Immediately upon her entering their facility, several rehabilitation doctors and staff evaluated her for her current capabilities. She began the proper diet and exercise regiment necessary to help her regain her strength. I am very happy to report at this time, that both her speech and mobility capabilities are increasing daily. Although she can be feisty at times, the rehab, speech, and nursing staff help her along the way. If you or a loved one need a nursing facility in this part of Southern California, Palm Terrace is the facility that you would wish to be in. My father and I highly recommend this facility to anyone. We wish to thank the entire staff for their patience and care of my Mother.
