About This Community

Welcome to Madonna Manor! We are a very unique community that has been in Salinas as the first retirement community since 1961. Formerly a Catholic and women only facility, it is now open to all - both men and women.

Come see our Ranch style community that features private or shared apartments with private baths and where each hall has its own laundry and kitchen areas. You can also explore our beautiful courtyards which are located out each door on our scenic 7 acre property.

Our staff is committed to providing the best quality and highest value in independent and assisted living.

Although we are currently unable to offer in person visits or tours of our community, we look forward to connecting with you on a phone call, by email, through our website or via social media, including Facebook.

Madonna Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care was beautiful, very clean, and very nice. It seemed like they had a very attentive staff. It just didn't seem the right fit for my mother-in-law. We just had cookies and hot chocolate and they had a very nice Christmas program. There were a couple of ladies doing crafts and that's all we saw. It seemed like the program they had were mostly for their memory care people there, so there wasn't an active interaction among the residents. The studio apartment was nice but small. The dining room looked very nice. They had an exercise room and a beauty shop. The activity center was very nice.

My father has moved into Madonna Gardens Assisted Living, but I haven't been there. My sisters took care of it. I toured it four years ago before it was finished. I think the atmosphere was great and cleanliness was good. The staff who toured me around was friendly and helpful. My dad loves the food; he's going to gain 50 pounds. I've only seen pictures of the rooms. I know they're gonna have happy hour today at 4:00. So far, the family is very happy with it, and so is he.

My mother-in-law is doing well in Madonna Gardens considering, and I'm very pleased. Everything that we saw and observed was very positive. We had Thanksgiving there with her, and the food was lovely. Everything seems to be fine. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. They are very proactive in assisting the people who are living there with ideas, games, puzzles, etc.

I visited Madonna Manor. It was very good, and they had a vacancy, but it wasn’t really what my sister needed at the time. She needed a little bit more help. It seemed like the staff was very nice, the facility was being renovated, and it was in a good location. I can highly recommend it. The grounds were very nice. They’re well manicured and safe.

I find Madonna Manor to be very claustrophobic. I knew that was not the place for my father-in-law because the rooms were small and there were very long hallways like in a hospital. It's undergoing renovation on one side and then they will renovate the other side. The dining area was nice, and they also had an activity room. The staff working with the residents was extremely friendly and very helpful. I really liked the staff.
