I loved Cogir of Fremont Senior Living very much. It was great. The meals were very good. The staff was professional, helpful, and supportive. It was clean, well cared for, and well-groomed. I looked at a one-bedroom unit, and it was very nice and very comfortable. It had a full kitchen, a large bathroom, and a closet. Everything was well done. The bathrooms had support rails, so it was nicely laid out. We saw an activity where they were making Memorial Day decorations for their apartments. We saw an exercise going on. People were out by the swimming pool. People were doing jigsaw puzzles. People were coming and going as they wished. There was a bus that took people to doctors' appointments, to shopping, and to excursions. They had a beautiful library that they could go to. I met the activity director, and she was delightful.

I'm going to move into Cogir of Fremont Senior Living. I didn't want to confuse myself and I did a respite there for about a week, 11 years ago. It took me that long to decide, but I'm ready to move in. I went there again and everything's changed so much. They gave me lunch and it was delicious. I didn't want to confuse myself by going somewhere else and I was very impressed with them so I'm ready to move in. One of the directors over there, while she was assisting, was the entertainment person too, and she's the one that showed us around. I went and they explained the difference in the levels of care. I am legally blind and I have to do insulin shots. They informed me that they can't do the shots themselves, but they can probably fill it in the syringe, and then I can give it to myself at a later time during the day. I'll be going to the independent for now until I lose my sight. I was very impressed with the room itself. I know that it was furnished and I have to bring my own furniture, but I was very impressed at the cleanliness. She also took us to the dining room and I had lunch there, and that was very nice of them, too. It kind of reminds me of when I went and did a respite there for a week, 11 years ago. I was still so impressed with it. There are a lot of activities and it was the activities director that showed us around. She said there's a lot of things for me to take part in, but I'm not sure if I'll do that because I'm wheelchair-bound and I had a stroke so my balance is poor. They showed me the library. I think it also doubled as an entertainment room where you can watch TV. I think they also have game tables where you can play mahjong, but I can't even see very well to be able to do that. The library was separate and the dining room was large. We had a very nice lunch and it was very light. I only took the Waldorf salad and a soup, and that was enough for me. The building itself, everything inside changed drastically from when I was there 11 years ago but it's still very clean. It's very easy to get around. I'm going to have to learn how to maneuver myself but I saw a few patients that were rolling their walkers around that had a padded seat.

I moved to Cogir of Fremont Senior Living. It's very nice and very welcoming. Like everybody else, they are being very careful with Covid. The food is very good. The people are very, very pleasant. I'm very happy. Right now, because of the Covid, we don't have activities, but I understand that. They usually have a lot of activities that happen on a regular basis. They have a small indoor pool, a library, and I heard they have a church, too.

I visited Brookdale. The feel was good. They talked me into a dinner, which is open dining, and you can eat anytime all-day long. I didn't feel the value, or quality of the food. I managed to put a hold on a unit I liked, which is a studio. However, I think I would not have access to come and go as I wish.

I am interested in Brookdale. The tour guide was the best one so far as he was very knowledgeable. The campus was very nice, and the whole atmosphere was cheerful. We saw a one-bedroom apartment.

Brookdale Fremont was a lovely place. I really liked it, but they had the smallest room -- 571 square feet -- and there was a long wait list. I liked the community, and the people all seemed to be very contented and happy. They were walking around with their pets and things. It just seemed like a really nice place to live. She had one apartment that I really liked, but it was just too small for me. I could hardly get in the bathroom. There was only one room for one person to turn around in. The staff seemed to be very congenial, and I was impressed on how efficient everything was run.

I enjoyed my visit with Brookdale Fremont. The sales director was very pleasant and very helpful. The apartments were good, and the rooms were average quality compared to others I've seen. The dining rooms looked pleasant. The menu selections looked fine. They did have some exercise equipment and a woodworking shop. They had various activities everyday. The price was good, and the location was very good. It was close to public transportation.

Everybody here at Emeritus at Fremont is very friendly. They are doing some remodeling so it’s clean, and the pet arrangement there is very nice. The room works just fine for my mother. I think the facility is fabulous.

Emeritus was a little rundown. It was very clean, it just needed to be painted and needed to be remodeled, but that’s what they are doing now. The atmosphere is very active, and people seemed very happy. It seemed like a really nice friendly place. It has a one bedroom and a studio. They were great, and when I was there they were going to the Oakland Museum. There were a lot of people, so they got them a bus, and everyone was very excited to go. The residents seemed very active and happy. The staff was very nice and very informative, and it was probably the best one I have seen. I was actually very positive, and if they do the remodel I would definitely rate it a 5 stars. At the time I went, it was a little rundown. Everything was great except for just being a little rundown. I had a very positive impression. The food looks fine; it’s not kind the of food I would like to eat, but my father would have loved the food there.

I like Merrill Gardens. The place was nice and clean. Their room sizes were pretty good for the price compared to other places. I had lunch there and the food was very good. The people there were friendly and nice. The staff was very nice and friendly as well. They gave me a list of all kinds of activities that they have there. They could take their residents shopping, to doctor's appointments, field trips, etc., just like all the other places. What I like best about this facility was their rooms, their staff and their food. I would recommend this place.

Merrill Gardens at Fremont (Emeritus) was a really nice place. It was very active and had a lot of things for people to do. They had movie times and exercise dates. Everybody was fine and I had no problem with anything there. It was very clean. Everything was put in its place. Nothing was scattered around. The people there were very nice to me.

My mom is living in her own little apartment in Merrill Gardens (Emeritus). It is a very nice-looking place. It doesn't feel like a facility at all. It just feels really like a 55 and older apartment community. They have activities for their residents. They have bingo, all kinds of card games, water aerobics, etc. They have entertainments where somebody would come in and play the piano. They have a cocktail hour once a month and activities outside that residents can sign up. They periodically go out to a restaurant together. Food is mediocre though I know my mom would prefer to eat out. Overall, my mom likes it there. I like best that she is not alone in an individual apartment somewhere without anybody knowing who she is or where she has been. If she doesn't show up, somebody would look for her, etc. For instance, at this moment, she is not in the facility. She has been hospitalized and is in a rehab right now. When I go to Merrill Gardens, somebody always asks me about her, "How's your mom?" and I like that. I like that she is part of a community and there are people wanting to know how she is. This place is very expensive for a one-bedroom apartment and the food and activities don't warrant that. Also they could do better if they have more security especially at night. I wish they could be more economically reasonable and that they could improve on the food they serve. However, my mother is comfortable there. She is with other people her age and she is happy there.

If you want your love ones to be independent, this is the best place to take them. Merrill Gardens promotes independent living to it's residents to make them feel that they can do whatever they want to do and that they can still live their life on how they want it to be. They make their residents feel free and happy.

It seemed like a very nice place compared to some others. The facility was is decent shape. The staff seemed like they really cared for the people that live there. They also seemed like they had plenty of entertainment for the seniors there. One of the things I was displeased by was the food because it tasted very bland. It wasn't very good and the cafeteria staff didn't seem to be very friendly. The room where my grandfather is staying looked no different than a hotel room. I also liked the fact that they had various games for the residents throughout the week.
