Portola Gardens was a terrible place. The lady who assisted me with the tour was very nice, but the place was just really bad. It stunk. The rooms were extremely small. It didn't meet any of my requirements. They did have activities going on, but not many. They had a garden. The place was not clean. The facade of it was beautiful, but the inside was terrible. They were having construction going on, but it looked like all they were doing was slapping paint over stuff. It just wasn't nice.

Portola Gardens is beautiful, wonderful, and the staff is excellent. My mom has been there a month now, and she has shown great improvement. I'm really proud of what they're doing for my mom. I recommended them to a couple of my friends' moms. They have entertainment, exercise, and they have a really good communication with their clients and their clients' families. It's one of the best I've seen. The staff is really good, everybody that feeds my mom, washes her, we have excellent communication, and every time I leave there, I want to give the staff something extra. My mom has made a tremendous turnaround due to the staff. She the food all the time and it smells good. The facility is very clean, and my mom is always clean. The cost is a little high. It would be reasonable because it's my mom, it's not really affordable, but it's reasonable.
