We toured AlmaVia of San Francisco, which is a much larger community. They have various amenities and activities to offer, because they have independent living, assisted living, memory care, and hospice. They cover all levels of care. We've tried the food several times and I'd definitely rate them very high. On certain days they go north for medical appointments, other days south for medical appointments, and there are a couple of other days where they take the residents for rides around town. For memory care, they won't necessarily unload them, but they do drive them around on the van and get them ice cream. Other levels can go out and do their thing, then meet their van to come back.

AlmaVia of San Francisco was pristine all the way through. It seemed clean and not cluttered. The salesperson I dealt with was kind of aloof, stuffy, and not at all that friendly. The dining area was pretty nice, and they have a prayer room. It's a fairly new place.

AlmaVia of San Francisco was very nice and very clean. I liked the ambience The workers and administrator seemed very nice. The room I saw was empty and did not give me a bad impression, but it was small.

AlmaVia was very pleasant. The woman I met was a religious person -- she was a sister -- very warm and she wasn’t trying to sell the place so much. It was a very pleasant visit, and the place looked nice but my mother said, she wasn’t interested so she didn’t visit it herself. There is one room that we looked at; there were no views and it sounds a little close than other rooms. The room themselves were OK but my mother now has a nice view from her window; there was nothing like that in any of the rooms in AlmaVia, so that was a drawback there.

It is located in a very nice neighborhood. It has a very nice homely feel to it, as did the actual facility itself. The facility has good upkeep with its maintenance. It is extremely beautiful and breathtaking inside with a nice pathway from the inside to the outside. The staff members themselves are beautiful people, very courteous and kind, always willing to help. They would stop by routinely and ask my grandpa and I if we needed anything need it be a glass of water or food they would get it for us. They seemed very well trained and professional, knowing exactly what they were doing in. I extremely like the fact that they have memory care rooms and the two programs for memory care. The food was definitely tasty so I knew that my grandpa was not starving but rather enjoying the delicious meals daily. I also like how they have different events and activities for them so that their time spent there is not boring and just spent sitting in a chair all the time, but rather getting up and about and interacting.

Alma Via offers assisted living and memory care. I know it well; I've visited it, referred clients there, and have had personal friends who have lived there. The setting is lovely. It's near St. Thomas More Church, and the neighborhood is pleasant,with lots of trees and a walking path. But it's in the fog belt, so there's not much sun.Bus transportation can be a problem, but there's easy access by car.The direct care staff is well trained, attentive to residents, skilled in elder issues. They really make an effort to get residents to make friends and socialize. And they're very responsive to residents' needs. They do a good job with memory care, too. They have two programs, one geared more to early stage and a more structured program for later stage.The food is very good--and I'm a harsh food critic. Lots of fresh ingredients, good menu choices, and responsive to diet issues. I'd give it a B+.They also have a wonderful calendar of social events and activities: Bridge groups, current events discussions, music, outings to events like a day at the museum. It's a Catholic community, so there's lots of interaction with the church, as well.

Alma Via was actually a neighbour on my mom's place. So she generally chose the place for herself. Aside the facility is in good location, she knew some of the residents as well. So she have this home-like environment. And when we toured the facility, the place was actually nice and have this homey ambiance. The people were nice and very accommodating. The place really suits her.

The staff and environment was very pleasant. Friendly people and very clean common areas. But my grandmother's room was not kept in immaculate condition. Due to her obsession with cleanliness, she had to leave the center.

Alma Via offers assisted living and memory care. I know it well; I've visited it, referred clients there, and have had personal friends who have lived there. The setting is lovely. Rooms vary is size from large to small. And the facility itself is new, modern, well kept. It's two stories and on the medium- to large size.

This facility is right next to a church. The neighborhood isn't great "“ it's not too close to shopping. It's in a more private neighborhood and a bit isolated.
The grounds of the facility are very nice. It's a very beautiful place inside. They have patios and walking paths outside.
They have assisted living and memory care, and the memory care area is a little more claustrophobic. There is very little room for someone in a memory care unit to walk and it's too bad. The living room and dining room are very large and beautiful.
I only saw the memory care rooms and I thought they were small. I didn't see the assisted living rooms.
The food there is very good and nutritious. The presentation is attractive and nice.
The staff seems really nice, but I didn't have that much interaction with them. They seem to be nice and professional though.
There are lots of activities at this facility. I didn't look closely, but there was a whole board of planned activities.
