The Terraces at Los Altos is in a neighborhood, which is not within walking distance of anything. It's maybe a mile from downtown, and so most people aren't going to walk that far. Downtown Los Altos is small and charming, but it's not within walking distance of much of anything. The units are nice. When we arrived there, a bus was just coming back from San Francisco. We didn't have a meal. They showed us menus, and the menus looked good. They have very small balconies. It is a little less spacious in terms of the campus itself. It's a little bit isolated there. The staff person is nice. She's very good.

I've been to The Terraces of Los Altos. I have a lot of friends there and I've also gone on a regular tour. I think it is lovely and has a lot of things to offer. I think it is fairly expensive too. More expensive than I quite realized, because there is a large down payment and the monthly expenses. If you want to go there, which I think is one of the nicest ones in our area, then you should go sooner when you can take advantage of them. Don't wait so long in your home.
The only things I toured were the rooms and the regular independent living. The food is not anything to rave about. The problem with The Terraces right now is they always have to wear their masks still. They can't get together, except outside, without their masks when they play games. A lot of things haven't been opened so I think it was a really bad time. My friend just went in right during the pandemic, and so she wasn't able to take advantage of the normal life. She was very isolated. The only activity that she really has done is the exercise room. It hasn't been open all the days of the week and it has been limited. She plays outside with her friends in the afternoons, which will be impossible as it gets colder. The rules during this COVID-19 have been very strict, which, of course, is to be expected. I realized I'm much freer at home. I am glad I didn't go in yet.
I think some of the rooms are lovely. I went to see a one- or two-bedroom room on the tour. It's a big, new building.

The Terraces at Los Altos was very nice. It was very adequate, and even luxurious. The staff who gave the tour was very pleasant.

I visited The Terraces at Los Altos last month. I think that the people there are all very welcoming and helpful. The guests that we ran into as we were visiting the place were also very friendly. The place is beautifully kept, and they have supportive activities for people who live there. It's clean, it's beautifully done, and it was a place that I think anybody would like to move into. The staff was very supportive and friendly. The facility was clean, neat, and spacious. It was the kind of place that I think most people would be happy to move into. The menu was varied, it looked scrumptious, and it was inviting.

The Terraces is high end, and it's very nice. The buildings itself are very new. In the last five years, they've done a complete remodel/rebuild up the property itself. The gardens are gorgeous, too.
The staff is excellent. It's more designed as maybe an independent community. You're probably looking about $9,000 to $10,000 a month there. It is much more of sort of independent, but not necessarily. The air in the way it's designed is very much open, more resort style than institution style. The staff is a full range; let's call it a full range, full spectrum of people.
There's the young, vibrant group. The the group that's helping because they can understand the transition that's going on. By and large, there was no real problems with staffing whatsoever. I found the activities to sort of relatively the same. Everyone's got their afternoon exercise sessions, two or three times a week. Seemed like that's all relative to getting your patients to participate, so some places there were more participants, more lively.
It was very nice. It's almost parklike setting. That whole thing is set up to be as much a resort community as it is a senior living. They have a small bistro that you can get sandwiches in all day long.

We toured The Terraces at Los Altos. It's beautifully located. It's a lovely place to be. It's close to downtown in a nice, pleasant neighborhood. It was comfortable. Everything was very attractive. This was during the lockdown, so nothing much is happening. I can't say that I observed anything going on other than friendly interaction between the people there. The staff was perfectly pleasant, nice, and helpful.
We have gone to visit two different apartments, and they're both perfectly lovely and pleasant. Everything we saw was fine and really nice. The layout was excellent. I only met a couple of the staff, but they seem to be doing an excellent job.

We went to the Terraces of Los Altos last month. We think we will be very happy there. It's a nice community. It's close, within walking distance for shopping and stuff like that. It's a fairly expensive place for our needs. We've only seen the marketing folks. They're knowledgeable and helpful. We had lunch there, and it was very pleasant. They've got a reasonable amount of green space. The independent living rooms looked appropriate. They're reasonably sized and laid out. Some of them had good views in the south; some had a little darker views in the north, but overall good.
