We toured Coastal Heights. My daughter really likes it. She lives in Irvine. The thing that I like, and the best thing about this place is their one-bedroom apartment. They had two different kinds, and the larger one was really the nicest apartment that I saw out of all of them, even the more expensive ones. It was roomier and set up better, so I really like that about that place. They have two different sizes. The larger one was really set up good for the way I would live, and I think that's why I was looking at that one. Plus, the cost was not as expensive there. They had a gorgeous courtyard.
I like the actual apartments. It would be the easiest one for me to downsize and move into. They were roomy and very well laid out. The transition from the living room to the bathroom to the bedroom was really well done. The storage was good. Their closets and their cabinets in the kitchen and in the bathroom provided more room and more storage than the other places I saw. The thing that I dislike the most about that place is the area, maybe it's because I'm just not familiar with Costa Mesa. I haven't lived in that area.
When I was there, the age of the people living there seemed to be not as old as like the other place. The staff who took me around was wonderful. She still stays in contact with me and my daughter. Because she knows that locations are important to me, she will even let us know which apartments are coming available and all that so I can go and take a look at it. The facility itself was really quite nice. They had some things that nobody else had. They have a laundry room on each floor. If you want to, you can go wash your own clothes. I don't know why that sounds appealing to me, but in some ways it does versus having someone wash and dry and fold your home clothes, so that's something that you could do for yourself also, because you want to be able to do as much as you can for yourself to make yourself feel useful, so that was a good thing.

My mother-in-law has moved into Coastal Heights. Everybody's very kind. They're very community oriented and very inclusive. The food is fine. They have activities, a movie theater, a fitness center, a hairdressing salon, and a nice dining room.
The facility is very clean. The carpet just needs to be shampooed. I think guests take their food back to their rooms at times and they spill, but they're on regular maintenance to have the carpet shampooed. Other than that, it's very clean. She's enjoyed the piano and singing. She doesn't play games or cards, but there are a lot of card games, there's bingo, puzzles and ceramics, and stuff like that. She likes to read. They have a lovely library.
It's a nice place. The staff is very kind, very helpful, and very attentive, and their maintenance person is amazing. They have a six-week change over in their food. They have a huge breakfast buffet or hot buffet. It's a two-meal-a-day place, and you choose which one you want to go to. It's a huge variety. They have happy hour. It's a very caring community and very inclusive. They care about their renters.

Coastal Heights is great. I think it's a really good stepping stone for somebody who doesn't need heavy caretaking, but a step above living completely by themselves. It's like a hybrid between a retirement home and a senior living with meals a day and people checking in on you. It's got beautiful grounds and nice people who are very willing to work with you and are welcoming. We had the chance to try out their food and it was really good. They have a lot of options.

Coastal Heights was excellent with the initial information they provided. They're very consultative and understanding of our needs and the flexibility we needed for my mother-in-law. She lives there now and they're extremely professional with the health and safety protocols. It's a very good value for the money and the facility is outstanding and is a very good quality. They've got very good activities, too. With their protocols, they've been able to keep those going. They got everything from bingo to going to the grocery stores to gardening classes to art classes. They make it fun for the residents.

My parents have moved into Coastal Heights. We chose this place because the price was really good, and I like the fact that it was independent living, but if you wanted to add on more services, you could, and so that was really good. It was really nice. The food is great. My parents really like it. The staff members have just been really good. Anything you need, you can ask, and they help you. They are bringing my parents all their meals while they are in quarantine, so it was nice. The staff is very helpful. The food is very good, too. The facility has just been remodeled recently, so it is really new inside, and the size of the rooms is big.

Everything at Fairview Commons is a 1-bedroom apartment. It's all new so it's a little spiffier and very nice. It seemed like the people who live there are a little more independent than the other place I visited. I came at a happy hour which was a Friday, and they had quite a very nice spread of snacks. It was definitely a little more upscale and somewhere I would like to go. They have a designated arts and crafts room. I like the décor the most, it was very modern, updated and the place was clean and fresh. It looked like some place I wouldn't mind living in myself. They said you can add on services as you need them. They had the dining room where you can have 2 meals a day. And the apartments have a full size refrigerator and a cooktop so you could make something you want to eat. It was very nice. The chef was very friendly and very proud of the food. I didn't eat it but the menu looked good. They were also having snacks where they're serving beer and wine at this common area, and it looked pretty well-attended, people were having a conversation and it was lively. They had an arts and crafts room, a library and screening room combination where they also play puzzles and board games. It's quite open and airy, and there are also a lot of outdoor areas we could lounge.
It looks very nice, but I also felt that you need to be a little more independent. I thought it's a little far of a walk from the apartment to the dining room. Apparently there are apartments that are closer, but not close enough for somebody who can't walk far. Although I did see people walking with walkers, so I guess if you have a walker it's fine. I only had interaction with the sales person but she was nice. They dont have a swimming pool there, but they have a fireplace in the living room that's connected to this common room. The residents were dressed nicely, and they seemed pretty happy to be there like they're enjoying it.

Fairview Commons would not be my choice for anybody. It was cold and unfeeling. There was no pool. The few people we did see walking about looked like zombies. Overall, it was depressing and the location was God-awful because there was a giant electrical plant across the street. There isn't anything about it that we like. It is truly dismal and not a place I would ever go to again nor recommend. The rooms were a little smaller than what we had anticipated. I didn't find fault with the rooms but I found fault with everything else. The rooms were OK, but the surroundings made it absolutely unacceptable. However, the dining area was nice.

I'm a resident of Fairview Commons. The service is OK and normal. The food is good, and the place is nice and clean. The activities they have are fine. They have buses that go everywhere in the morning and a lot of the residents go on those buses to get their medications and additional food they dont serve here.

Fairview Commons was very nice. They took me to the third floor, and it was very nice. They were remodeling a part of the dining area. We ate there and had salmon for lunch; it was very good. They had an activity room where they played cards and a nice common area to sit. The apartments were decorated nicely, had nice bathrooms, but the bedroom and the living room were really small. The sales director was very nice and very enthusiastic about the place.

I have lived at Fairview Commons for a month and have loved every minute of it. The residents and staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. The price is reasonable for all that you get! Once I met Vicki and Monica, the decision was easy!

When you look at the outside of Fairview Commons, it is nice. The interior is dated but clean and neat, and the people are very down-to-earth, friendly, and caring. As far as safety, everything is enclosed from the back to the front. It seems like a safe environment. The apartment has a small bedroom, a small living room, a small bathroom, and a little kitchenette, and they provide the meals. It has a balcony for the dogs. The salesperson there -- Vicky -- is excellent.

I heard about Fairview Commons (formerly Costa Neuporte) from a friend, and I visited it. Everyone was very friendly, cooperative, and helpful. Everyone that we talked to that lived there was very enthusiastic, and they said it was the best deal in town as far as measuring cost versus services. They were extremely happy. The rooms were big; it was like the size of two bedrooms put together. It had a kitchen and a patio, and the setup was really lovely.
The food was great. They have transportation for shopping, and they have a couple of vans so they can take you to appointments. They have card games and parties, and it’s in a good neighborhood.

Mom used to stay at Coasta Neuporte for about twelve years. We had her transferred her a year ago because she had dementia and needed more care. But Coasta Neuporte was a nice place if you just needed independent living. They had a nice dining room and activities like bingo, cards, music programs, movies and arts & crafts. They had individual one-bedroom apartments, which were very nice. They even had a little kitchen with refrigerator and microwave. They had their meals in the dining room and if they were sick, they could bring their meals in their room. They had housekeeping and the staff was very good. They were very nice.

I've been to the facility twice with my brother. He and his wife will move in September 1st. The price was very reasonable. With what my brother's paying, they're going to get an actual apartment rather than just a large room. The people there are very friendly and they seem to be able to provide with all the help and whatever he's going to need.
It's out by the Orange County fairgrounds. It's a large facility with a beautiful courtyard, a dining facility, underground parking, they have a bus to take people to wherever they need to go. It's 3-storeys and they have various apartments and stuff, but they're actually going to have a living room, front room, a bathroom and a kitchen. They have housekeepers that come in and help with the cleaning and changing bed sheets and they provide clean towels for them several times a week. The people living there seem to be happy. I have already recommended this facility to others.
