Dave's sister
My brother is currently receiving care and rehabilitation after being an inpatient at San Antonio Hospital for several weeks. Physical Therapist Shirley has been an answer to our hope for Dave. She has given him the encouragement to build up the skills needed to return home. She is a true dedicated professional and our family is very thankful for her.

My father is in Upland Rehabilitation and Care Center. He came in last night. So far, it's okay. It's good. I have a cousin that was here before, and she just told us that she liked it, so that's the reason why we came here. I think they can update. It's decent inside, but it's just a little outdated. They do offer patio visits, which is nice because you can have as many people as you want on the patio. So far, the staff is nice. Everything seems old. The outside appearance doesn't look new, it looks like from the 1970s.

Horrible place. My mother in law was released from San Antonio hospital back in August the 29th to be exact and was sent to Upland. She has pneumonia and c diff. When I called she wasnt even being treated for pneumonia, she went almost a week without being given the the proper medication. I had to contact the Administrator then they contacted the hospital to get her records. Low and behold she had pneumonia. Besides that there was so much more they didnt do for her. She is now at a great home. Upland rehab is dirty, they use fans on sick patients rooms are extremely hot. Staff is unqualified. Sadly disappointed in the care she didnt recieve. They need to be investigated.

Upland Rehabilitation is a very good place. I didn't have to do anything, they did it all. We didn't have to bother them, we didn't have to fight with them or argue or anything. They've accepted us under Medical and they did their job.

This 197 bed facility has undergone a remodeling; it was clean, but as with most skilled nursing and sub-acute facilities I did detect a slight urine odor. Short term and long term care is available including hospice care. There was a lot of activity when I visited; I heard a patient asking for help as she tried to get out of her wheelchair at the rehab center. The rooms are two to four patients per room without any private rooms. I really liked the walking path built for patient rehab; it's made with different materials and concrete stairs. They also have a community garden for patients to use for rehab (a patient in a wheelchair was watering the plants).

This facility provides rehab services to include physical therapy and occupational therapy services. The facility appeared to be divided into two parts. One side is for the patients who are there for rehab following a stroke etc. and the other side is for those patients who need longer term. Clean facility with a remodel in progress. Easy access for entry and exit. Plenty of parking on the west side of the building. Friendly staff that appeared to be engaging to the residents. I noticed residents outdoors enjoying the sunshine. I got a positive feeling during my visit.

My loved one is miserable at Upland Rehab. He never gets his medication on time.He never gets his evening snack that the dietitian prescribed for him to gain back some weight. He goes hungry. His roommate always has over four visitors in their tiny room until after 10:00PM. His roommate is a Mexican National. They shouldn't have been roomed together. They can't communicate. The worse thing is that when my loved one calls for help it takes over an hour for somebody to come and see what he needs. Sometimes his wheelchair is moved out of his reach. So, he can't even get up to go ask them for help. They don't care anyway. They treat him as if he is bothering them.He doesn't ask for much. Just that they treat him with respect and provide him with what is prescribed to him.
