I'm giving Almity 1 star, only because I have to. I was a client of theirs when I left the hospital, and it was a horrible experience from the beginning! From a foreign nurse that I couldn't comprehend, to a home health aide who was frequently late (or just wouldn't show up) without giving any notice whatsoever, I was not a fan of their agency!
They refused to pay for urological supplies that were necessary for my care, instead trying to tell me I needed to order it from a different company, and when I called them (and MANY others) I was told that Almity (or the home health agency) was required to pay for the urological supplies instead...that part of what Medicare pays them is for those supplies. Grace, the owner was too cheap to pay for them though, and pocketed the money instead!
I had one employee of theirs who told me that they had to take a CPR class because the agency requires it for employment, but they had hired that person and allowed them to start working before completing the class. WOW!!! One of my providers said that they were never even fingerprinted for the job...good thing this person turned out to be a good caregiver! SOME of the staff are amazing...but you never know who will be assigned to your case, and they get upset if you ask to change nurses or aides if the person you had was one of Grace's "favorites".
When you call, if you need to speak with anyone other than the receptionist, plan on not having your call returned for a couple days...if at all! If you ask to talk to Grace and she is "busy", you can forget about her EVER returning your call.
The staff often talked about the agency while caring for me, and were overwhelmingly dissatisfied with their employer because they were not recognized for good work, were often not paid on time, there was a lack of communication from management to the remainder of the staff, and Grace's "favorites" were given a lot of hours while others hardly got any cases, etc.
After another stint in the hospital, including surgery, I was ECSTATIC to finally pull the trigger and drop my care from Almity. I have been with a different agency locally for several months, and the change is night and day different, in a great way!
Avoid Almity!

This Home Health Agency is compassonate and very caring to their patients. Your nurses take very good care of their patients. Their office is centrally located in Claremont. They will also get a Social Worker out to see the patient ASAP to assess for community resources and emotional support. GREAT Home Health Care!!
