My friends stayed at Holiday the Oakmont. The facility was absolutely amazing. The staff was phenomenal. They were really kind at trying to explain how everything worked. We toured the facility multiple times. You could not ask for more patient and kind people. They were in the independent living part, but they would have somebody that could clean for them once a week. There were different things that would be an additional cost if it got to that point. They met some brand-new friends who they absolutely loved, and they're going to miss them. The first time we were invited for a meal, the residents came up and introduced themselves. They were all welcoming, both the residents and the staff. The dining facility was like a five-star restaurant. We had a five-course meal. They had a little refrigerator that had a clear glass door sitting on the counter that had all kinds of little sweet treats that they can take out anytime during the day. They had different drinks sitting on the counter that's always available. They had three square meals a day, and you could come down and have a meal. Or if you're sick, they will bring the meal to you free of charge. If you're just not quite ready and comfortable, there's a tiny fee for them to deliver the food to your room. When we first went into their apartment, another resident had just moved out. There were things that needed to be fixed, so they fixed everything. It had a nice view of the open yard. They had a beautiful outdoor area with rocking chairs, a nice walking path, and it was really cute. There were squirrels running up and down the trees. There were also things to entertain them like music, games, they went to the stores, and to appointments.

My husband was at Holiday The Oakmont. It was OK. The residents seemed bored most of the time. My husband's room was very nice. It was a large studio with a nice, large bathroom and a little kitchen. It was very nice. It had a balcony. They had a large yard and a nice outdoor patio. They had a music room, a movie room, and a pool table. They had bingo and trivia day. They had some painting classes. They have people come in and play the piano. They had some art classes. It was a good value.

The physical appearance of The Oakmont is not as nice as the other place, but it's fairly clean. It's a little older. There's a gal named Mary, she was our tour guide, and I liked her. She has so much information and she was able to show us a different range of apartments, from upstairs to downstairs, to larger or bigger ones. She was really helpful. We've tried the food, it was just so-so, but the dining room people were pretty helpful. There wasn't a lot of activity going on that day when we were there, they weren't doing anything in particular. The rooms are nice, they're pretty roomy. They're not as modern as the other place, but the views were nice there.

I enjoy the service, the people, the activities, the pretty grounds, and the veggie garden. Everyone is very nice. I like it here.

The rooms and facilities in Oakmont are okay. The main thing is the food. The tour was alright, it was good. Everybody was polite and cordial, and the people were friendly. Their rooms weren't big but for a single person they weren't bad. I looked at a 1-bedroom apartment and they were a pretty good size and pretty decent. The staff would just come in to do the laundry and make the meals. The staff said that they did field trips, a few things but they didn't have a pool table. The person who gave the tour was nice and knowledgeable enough.

Pro's: The room that my mom has is nice. It is big and comfortable. She has a 1 bedroom. She can walk her dog around the perimeter of the building. The staff are nice. Cons: The food is awful. Numerous people have made complaints. The CEO of Dining came out due to the complaints. Nothing changed. The hot food is cold, yet they put cold salads directly on a hot plate, so your salads are warm. The servings are small. They had an "extended menu" for a while with things like hamburgers and chicken fingers but the extended menu has been replaced. They don't give you an option of NOT paying for meals--we would bring meals to her, if it was an option. The food is downright lousy; many of the residents seem to have some element of dementia, so they don't complain. Others are scared to complain. If it weren't for the food, my mom would be happy there. Pros: bus service Cons: very limited bus service. One of the bus drivers is 75 plus years old--he even forgot to pick up my mom for a doctor's appointment. They generally run only in the mornings, and not every day of the week. Pros: they usually have a piano player or singer about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes on Saturdays. That is nice. They have other entertainment but I usually only visit on Saturdays. They do have at least on activity a day. Cons: Many of the citizens are not independent. There is a service available that provides caregivers. Some of the residents need full-time care. I am not sure why it is not billed as an assisted living rather than independent living community. If you think this place has a majority of independent seniors, you will be disappointed.

I toured The Oakmont, and the young lady who went with me was pushing me in my wheelchair. I was very impressed with the place. We looked at a one-bedroom apartment, but it was so expensive at $2,600 a month. They feed you three meals a day and have a laundry, so you could go there and do your laundry. They don't have a kitchen in the apartment, but they have a place for a little refrigerator and you could have a microwave in there. There's so many things, they also provide transportation. I got a packet with all the things in it, and I was really impressed. The lady who was showing us around was very congenial. There was a gentleman who showed us the apartment and gave me the folder with all the information in it and talked with me. Everything was so nice, the dining area seems like a pleasant place to dine. They have a piano in there so I'm sure there's also entertainment there. I like that they have Wi-Fi in your room so you can have your computer, cellphone, and all of those things. It's a very special place. They have some kind of athletic or active things they do with the residents there. You can go in the gym and do all kinds of things, and it sounded to me like it would be very enjoyable. I'm hoping to be in independent living but with my legs, I'm sure I'm headed for the assisted living. The bathroom with all the assisted living things you could use, the facilities there were marvelous.

I really loved the staff at The Oakmont. They personally knew everybody and they treated everybody like it was their home. They weren't just residents there. It was very nice and I loved the grounds. I fell in love after the reception I got, which was wonderful. The courtyard is all trees and not cement, but a garden. It's beautiful and I loved it. They also have several activities going on, but not too much that it's overwhelming. They have three meals a day. There are choices if you don't like the main meal. I was very happy.

The Oakmont has everything that everybody else has. They have activities, like television shows and games, and they take you places in their van. They were very pleasant. Their meals were very satisfactory and very pleasant too. The food was very adequate and attractively presented. The staff member we met did the best he could to show us around. However, I did not like the shape of the rooms. The dimensions of the rooms were odd; they were almost triangular. Also, the place itself could use some freshening up.

My mother lived at the Oakmont and I just had to mention that although she is no longer with us, we are very satisfied with the way she left this world. They took great care of her and she ended her life on a very fun and positive note. We couldn’t be happier with the way they provided for her and the caring ways of the over all staff. Highly recommend

We visited The Oakmont and ate there; the food was fine. They had decent-sized studio units, and it seemed like the right place even though they're understaffed during the weekends. We almost signed a lease, but we were told many things by many people, so there was no consistency. One person said that they call the fire department to help you up if you fall, and another one said that they help people up themselves. The person who gave the tour was very sweet, helpful and did the best to her ability, but she was the only one at the front desk at that time.

The Oakmont is a good place. My brother is really happy there because he's well-involved with the people and with the different things they're doing around the community. It's just that it's pricey and it's hard to keep up when you're on a fixed income. He plays Bingo a couple of nights a week, and he does happy hour at the bar on a weekly basis. There are things he can do that keeps him busy. Everybody knows everyone else and they know they're safe. They appreciate that my brother goes around and checks the doors before he retires to his room, they're happy that they feel secure. They also have good food.

My sister-in-law is in The Oakmont. So far, everything seems to be working really well. Their cost is within the budget. They have a lot of activities and social things, and they help her with medication. Her health is declining and memory is fading, and the staff is helping her with that, too.

I visited The Oakmont, but it was not the place what I was looking for. The rooms were too small for me. Also, the age range was older than I was anticipating. The facility was overall OK. I think they need to have a little more space and more activities.

I lived in Oakmont for three weeks now. They have cards and movies and a walking group and they have Tai-chi. The staff put me in touch with people to talk to. I find the place confining and they have flies every way. They have an interesting way of handling people in between, they have a group that reports here and is available when you need them, so that is really nice. One of the managers is into medical areas of interest so she’s pretty easy to talk to.

Some of the dialogue overheard by the younger staff was not workplace appropriate, but otherwise the facility was great. The staff treated the residents with respect and for those with special needs, the necessary care was given with no hesitance or negative demeanor by the attendees at al. The food dining selection was very nutritious and fresh, leaving me with a positive influence in regards to an aunt who wanted me to help in her final decision. There is a fun selection of activities and the current residents are happy and in good cheer. Clean, bright and spacious on the inside, the outside of the facility was also very maintained with fresh kept trees and flowers.. For family and friends wanting to visit, the location is easy to access, tucked back away from the main street and the hustle and bustle; yet, within very close walking distance to the movie theater and a little shopping center.

This assisted living facility was very clean and well maintained. There were limited grounds to walk around and many delicious and healthy options for dining. The staff was friendly, they greeted me the minute I walked in the door and answered all my questions. They were very helpful and there were enough staff members to be efficient and provide a safe environment for residents. Rooms were spacious and temperature controlled for residents with sensitivity to room temperature. I asked about what kind of activities were offered and was provided with several options including a Christmas party and Bingo. It didn't seem as dreary as other places do which was nice. I think all in all it was a pretty good visit to a lovely assisted living facility.
