Wood Glen Hall, the first retirement home in Santa Barbara, opened its doors in November 1957. It was started as a non-profit and continues to run as a non-profit today, making it affordable for seniors to receive high-quality accommodations, as well as outstanding care services at an affordable price.
Every room at Wood Glen Hall boasts a beautiful garden view. The food is delicious and our activities program runs seven days a week, with a wide array of options to choose from. We have a full time R.N. on staff, as well as an exemplary personal care staff to accommodate the individual needs of each of our residents

Wood Glen Hall has beautiful gardens and a lot of outdoor patios and seating areas, but I think their menu probably wasn't quite as great as the other facility I checked out when it comes to the variety and the availability of what individual people's desires are. The rooms were very nice though. They all have garden views. They might be a little bit smaller, but not much. I met the director and she was very nice. I saw their schedule of activities and it seemed like they had plenty of things to do.

My mother is so happy with the staff, food, and the lovely facility. It is wonderful to see her thrive and grow while participating in their varied mind and body activities.
The atmosphere feels more like a home than a residential care facility.
I feel confident that they are keeping a close eye on her well being and feel very in the loop with their excellent communication.
I look forward to my regular visits and feel at home myself.

My family loves Woodglen Hall. It is so nice Visiting my mother there because the grounds are beautiful, her studio is comfortable and spacious, and there are several rooms to have private meals with her. The food is very good. The best part is the kind and capable staff..

I looked at Wood Glen Hall. The lady who runs the establishment gave me a nice tour. I was very satisfied with her. She was extremely competent. I was very satisfied with the grounds, the homes, the dining hall, and the places where you can go read and relax. It was a first class organization. I couldn't have been more pleased when I left.
The size of the room was about the right size for me. The interior looked very nice. I talked with a couple of people there and they were very pleased with the director, the grounds, the rooms they had, and the people. They offered transportation to post office. They also have transportation to a wide variety of entertainment options. As a resident there, you can go to all sorts of performing arts in Santa Barbara. What they have there in the way of options, e.g., reasons to get out of your room and places to go to, I think they are superb. The dining area was superbly immaculate. The general décor couldn't have been any better.

LOVE Wood Glen Hall! A perfect place for family/loved ones. We pre-viewed 9 other facilities in the SB area for our mother and this is the ONLY one that felt like home. The ambiance is cheerful, full of light-filled corridors and rooms with views of gardens and courtyards. The rooms are nice-sized and lovely, great closet spaces and bathrooms. Besides the standard sized rooms, there are also options for larger deluxe rooms or suites. They are meticulously clean and well-taken care of. Activities are geared toward a variety of interests, especially the music and games. There are also movie nights, guest performers, card games, arts and crafts, tea time, and so much more. Also, a 5 Star fine dining hall experience with a variety of delicious meals and deserts! There is a level of compassion and care from all staff that far exceeds our expectations! A full-time registered nurse is on staff, which we find very comforting. This is the place of a loved ones dreams! Wood Glen Hall is a non-profit assisted living facility with affordable pricing. Wood Glen Hall was the most affordable of all of them here in Santa Barbara, and it was the most wonderful; I could move there myself. The people were so nice and so kind, and the whole facility was like a big home with 70-something people, so it's a nice size and very personal. The rooms were very nice, and the outside had a huge walking path. They have yoga, music every night, a bridge group, a dominoes group, and shopping trips. They have a bus that takes them to different little outings.

Wood Glen Hall looks very nice to me. It seems quite comfortable to me. It's quite elegant. They have good food. There's more freedom and independence there. They have separate units, it's very nice. They have transportation and so forth. They're not as expensive as the others. The staff, the lady there, I think she's a registered nurse, is just fantastic. I had a very good experience with Wood Glen Hall.
