About This Community
Oak Cottage is separated into 3 neighborhoods, specifically designed for residents who are challenged with cognitive impairment, including Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Lewis body dementia and frontal lobe dementia. Our neighborhoods of 11-15 apartments open onto a gracious and secure grand room with areas for dining, activities and views to outdoor patios and deep-set porches. Our apartments all have private entrances and you may choose between private or shared bathrooms. Each apartment has 11 foot ceilings with a private counter and storage area including a small refrigerator and bar sink. We love our residents and consider them family so every opportunity to celebrate important events in their lives is duly celebrated. Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, special events in S.B. are all excellent reasons to celebrate. We love to show our residents a great time.

My father is living in Oak Cottage of Santa Barbara. We love it. His room is perfect for him, just right. We have no complaints whatsoever and he has adjusted. The staff is wonderful. They have Bingo, exercise, trips to the beach and walks. They keep them occupied which is really well and we're very happy. The people in the office and caregivers are excellent.

I enjoyed the atmosphere at Oak Cottage of Santa Barbara. It seemed like the kind of place where my husband would feel at home. They have field trips and lots of activities on-site, like games and things like that. They serve three meals a day and assigned a person to each individual. Wi-Fi is provided, and they also have public TV and go to movies and some of the local events. They have van services to take the residents places like shopping, doctors' appointments, and things of that nature. It's a relatively new community, and the rooms are really nice.

Oak Cottage of Santa Barbara was probably one of my favorites. The rooms and the bathrooms are nice. You decorate your room yourself. The community itself is new, state of the art, and exquisitely beautiful.
The administrator is great. He’s very proud of his facility, and he’s very much engaged with his employees and the residents. They offer everything. They have arts and crafts, music, and trips away in their van. They do barbecues, and they have family gatherings.

Oak Cottage is dedicated primarily to memory care patients. They seem to have a very good staff and administration. The price is expensive but competitive with other places in Santa Barbara. The facility is brand new, clean, and well-staffed. The food and parking are really quite good.
