For more than 20 years, Silvergate Retirement Residence has been providing premier independent, assisted living, and memory care to the North San Diego County. Located near the beautiful Lake San Marcos, our community is conveniently near popular restaurants, shopping centers, and theaters. With one inclusive monthly rate, residents receive three daily meals, weekly housekeeping & flat linen service, utilities (excluding cable and phone), scheduled transportation, 24-hour reception and security on-site, 24-hour emergency response system, apartment maintenance and repair, reserved parking, and a full calendar of exciting activities, programs and scheduled outings.
Silvergate also offers various customized assisted living services at an additional cost. Our Director of Resident Care, along with our licensed nurses and 24-hour caregivers, ensure residents are provided with the assistance needed, at the moment it's needed. Some of the care services available include: medication management, assistance with activities of daily living (such as bathing, dressing and grooming), escort assistance, weight and blood pressure monitoring, continence assistance, and diabetes care management.
For residents living with Alzheimer's or related dementia, Silvergate's Memory Care Suites are designed to feel like home, but offer the safety of a secured perimeter, high-level supervision, and around-the-clock security. The monthly rate includes: private or semi-private accommodations, licensed nursed available daily, daily meals and snacks, staff trained in memory impairment, 24-hour monitoring and supervision, regular reminders and redirection, specialized programs and activities, daily housekeeping services, and secure outside grounds.

The layout is very different at Silvergate San Marcos. It's more of a neighborhood type of layout, so there are no long hallways. There are general meeting rooms and the bedrooms kind of flank the main section. We really liked that setup because there's no wandering. There's no need for your loved one to wander the halls, wondering where they need to go. Everything is very close to their rooms. We liked that. The staff was very nice. We did not taste the food, but they were having lunch when we were there. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. I did not see any activity going on because it was lunchtime. They have a very full activity calendar that the staff shared with us. I can see they do a lot of things like singing, religious bible chats, and all kinds of things.

Silvergate San Marcos was a nice facility. I liked how they set up the residents in pods, but that means people don't interact too much. I just didn't feel as if there was as much outdoor space for them to interact with each other.
I didn't really interact with the staff. I only talked to the sales manager, David. I think we really need to interact with more than just the sales manager, because as soon as you buy something, you don't see the sales guy anymore but all the other people. That's why I want to get to know the other staff first.
I only saw a shared room, and my mom seemed a little reluctant about that -- the thought of having someone else moving into her room. There was some furniture already, but it was sort of beat up, which I can understand. It's just a typical room, and it didn't look like any effort had been made to make it homey for the other residents.

Silvergate Memory Care has provided an extremely caring environment for my aged mother who lives there with Advanced Dementia. Staff have closely monitored my mother's physical health and quickly notify me as they see changes or new services required for her health and comfort. We viewed seven other memory care facilities before choosing Silvergate as it best suited our family's need to see our loved one in an environment where she would be comfortable. Recently, she told visitors that she was happy that she "never had to go into a nursing home" so we know we made the right decision.

Facilty is very clean.. always attentive to seniors living there. We worried about my mom moving into a facility but Silvergate is more like a home not a memory care facility..

I like the layout of the rooms around a central living area. it makes it easy to check on residents.

My Dad is a current resident at Silvergate. The staff is very kind, knowledgeable, respectful and caring. They know the names of all the residents and greet them by name. The activities are wonderful as well. Lots of music, dancing, popcorn parties and crafts. There is an outdoor walking path that my Dad and i walk on with well manicured plants and a large gazebo that he likes to sit under. The food there is quite delicious as my dad loves food!! It truly is the best place around!

This is the home that allows you to sleep at night and continue with your normal life feeling at ease and relaxed that your parent are happy and being well cared for.
My parents were in assisted and memory care.
Finding Silvergate was as exciting as a parent feels when they have found the right school or program for their precious kids.
I was now the parent and Silvergate makes me smile and proud to this day to say my parents enjoyed everyday till their last day with me.
Because of the actitives and care, I was able to enjoy my time with my parents and Silvergate did the work to care for us with the excellent staff.
Before choosing Silvergate I had visited over 20 facilities and Silvergate was #1
