My mother is in line to live at the Westchester Home. It only has six residents, but we have to wait for an opening. It's operational, but they have to wait for someone to move on. As soon as there's an opening, we're gonna put her in there. She'll be right around the corner from us and she'll get more one-on-one care. They can only have six, so we're waiting for an opening to get her in there. The owner was real friendly, showed us everything, and showed us the kitchen where they cook their meals. They all eat together in the dining room. They get help with showers, and they have activities and all that stuff sounded good to me. The rooms were not very big. They have a hospital bed in there, a dresser and a closet, but they don't want the residents to spend time in their bedroom. They want them to be out and about visiting. It's fully furnished. They take nothing with them except their clothes. They have a big dining room and a big dining room table with seats all around. Everybody eats together. As far as activities, I didn't see any going on at the time because we got there late afternoon, so I'm sure activities were finished for the day. They have a big den and a big living room, and they have TVs in both of those rooms. I saw two other employees and they were taking really good care of the seniors. They treat them really good. They were like a little family there. We are welcome to have a meal there any time, so I'm planning on that. The stuff on the menu looked really good. The facility was nice and big and very roomy, except the rooms. The individual rooms were small.
