Garden House offers lovely bedrooms with personal furnishings or pre-decorated rooms with homey, nostalgic touches. Residents may even bring their furry companion. Garden House provides 24/7 full-time compassionate care or temporary stays for respite and will accommodate both ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents.
Each resident will be assessed and an individual plan of care will be coordinated with the physician, a dietitian if needed, the family/caregiver and the resident if they are able. Garden House partners with local agencies and learning institutions to provide a teaching and a respite program to the community. Funding is through tax-deductible donations. Donations enrich the lives of the residents of Garden House

Garden House's ratio of staff is good. It's a small 15-bed facility secured with fencing. It had a nice garden area and a little bit of yard space that's secure and one that's not secured. It's open for visitation from family at any time. The staffing was great, and they had volunteers and internships with the community college. They had bingo and crafts, which was quite impressive for memory care. Everything was clean and nice, but it wasn't as pristine as a facility built for memory care since it's a converted home. The bathrooms were not as plentiful and all shared. Most of the rooms were shared as well.

Garden House is a nice place. It has Alzheimer's care. It's for people who are in wheelchairs and bed-bound. It's a different type of facility. The staff is very nice, very friendly, and very good to the people.

Garden House specializes in persons with Alzheimer's or dementia. This small home caters perfectly to the small town atmosphere of Morro Bay by bringing in volunteers and Cal Poly students like myself to interact, entertain, and be entertained by the wonderful staff and residents. The owner has tremendous compassion and experience given that the center was expanded after their own experiences with dementia. I would highly recommend visiting garden house and even volunteering to get a feel for what a fantastic senior center they run.
