Silverado Tustin Hacienda felt like the right place for my significant other. I like the level of care that they have: they have a doctor, RNs, or LVNs on staff at all times. He has been there for a couple of weeks now. The staff members are great. They're helpful and attentive. He said the food is good. The facility looks clean, so there's no problem. They have enrichment activities and music therapy. They just tell me that they do things. I haven't seen them, but I know they have plenty of activities for him. It's very expensive, but it's what he needs, and I believe that they are giving him the care that he needs right now, so it's worth it.

Everybody was very nice. There are only around 40 people that can stay there, and it's very nice. It's just nestled and amongst other buildings away from the metro area; that makes it convenient if you want to go visit. The only thing that I was kind of curious about -- because the person is supposed to be able to roam on their own, and I can't remember how it works out -- but I was under the impression that unless you requested it, they weren't really taken out for a walk, so the person tends to want to just stay indoors. It seemed that the attendants didn't necessarily take them out if they didn't want to go. Also, everyone had to eat between 8 o' clock and 9 o' clock in the morning, and if they didn't, then basically they weren't able to eat, like, a hot breakfast. They had pets there, which was nice, and it was very congenial; everybody seemed to be very attentive.

My mom moved in 9 months ago, and is happy! There are many activities for her to choose from and there are the community pets. She loves them. Residents are encouraged to be social at their comfort levels. The individual rooms are bright and comfortable, my mom brought a few special pictures to personalize her room and the walls. The staff is so helpful in their care of each resident. Each resident is treated as an individual, and the staff really knows their likes, dislikes and how to help each resident. This is not easy when working with older people with dementia, change is difficult. I love that I am able to have meals with my mom without additional charges. This helps me to remain a daughter, rather than a caregiver. Having an onsite full time Social Worker is so important and unique to Silverado. The Social Worker works with the families and the residents. My mom will never have to move again.

Silverado is marginal at best. My mom is in a private room, but if there were two beds in the room, it would be so tight you couldn't turn around. It's clean, and the staff is okay.

There is also one -- which I think is a little more pricey but they are really well-known for memory care -- called Silverado in Tustin. It is farther than where I want to have dad, but you can tell that they are doing a really good job with the memory care there. I did like the Silverado as well. Their specialization in memory care was really apparent. This is their specialty, and they don't do anything but memory care. They are not big in terms of the facility and the space, it is very clean, and they have a central courtyard in the middle of it, so the residents are able to go out of their rooms into this outdoor, shared patio area. In terms of my dad's physical functioning, they had as much to offer, and they were definitely high on my list of places convenient for me and other family members to get to. In terms of their viewing and professionalism, they were great. They definitely know what they are doing in their memory care.

Silverado is outstanding. The staff is very professional, helpful and informative. They referred us to several other places and a financial advisor to help me find a place for these people, because we couldn’t afford it. The dining area is very nice, very clean and has a homey atmosphere.

I went to Silverado in Tustin. They're a smaller facility with about 60 beds. It was very clean and they had very friendly staff when I visited. However, there weren't a lot of male residents there. Also because they were also farther away from me, I passed on them.

The facility was adequate, and it had all the standard activities like baking, bingo, sing along, etc. as well as liberal policies

This is the nicest facility I have ever been to. I recommend Silverado to anyone looking for a place for a friend or loved one.
