The Oasis at El Corral was an older motel converted into senior living. The rooms were all more or less a studio apartment and no one-bedrooms in them. I would say it would be for one person only. The girl over there was very, very nice and very accommodating. I would put my father-in-law in there, but for my husband and I, no, it would not be suitable. The staff was wonderful. For one person or for somebody who perhaps is a little more sedentary than we want to be, it might be just fine. Most of the people there had little dogs. So they were for one person, and it would have been okay. It was a little bit worn and tired, but the courtyard at the place was very beautiful. The ground's keeping was very nice. The rooms were adequate in size, but they just were just dreary. They didn't have a big dining room. The activity room was the same as the dining room. We didn't spend too much time there, but the girl was so nice. We went immediately to see the rooms. They had a tiny little mini kitchen, a very small bathroom, and the living quarters. The bed was in the same room as the living room. Everything was old and not bright or cheery. My kids said, 'You don't want to stay here, Mom. It's like an old motel,' and I felt the same way about it. For the facility, for what it is, I don't see how they could improve. It was almost like a Motel 6 in a square, the grounds were immaculate and beautiful, but there's not much they could do with the facility because it's an old motel, it's a reconverted type thing.

The Oasis at El Corral assisted living was very clean and kept up nicely. In talking with the manager, she was very attentive to anything that wasn't in working order. That's very good considering the price point that they asked for, to have somebody that gives exceptional care to the property and make sure that everything is in working order. It's a converted motel so you have to envision that the rooms are going to be small but for elderlies who need some care, it's just perfect. They're former motel rooms that are well-kept. There isn't much of a kitchen or dining facility, but they do have a common dining room.

The staff at Oasis at El Corral were nice, it was very clean, and the food was fine. However, it was not secure. The people could climb their chairs and climb over the wall and could come in and out of the building. You can't get in the place without buzzing in, but once you're inside, the doors were unlocked.

The Oasis at El Corral is all right. The only problem with them is that my dad's dogs can get through the fence. He's concerned about that. I did like the fact that they have big showers and that someone is there to help him shower. They also have the open living room and my dad could have a television in his room if he wanted to. I also like their dining room.

Oasis is a converted hotel into living facilities and what appealed to me was it was just real and authentic as opposed to more of a "plastic or not" real. It’s very well put and landscaped nicely, but there’s an awful of opportunity to walk outside to get from one place to another. I am more inclined to Oasis because the monthly fee is a little bit closer to what my mom’s income is.

The staff at Oasis was fine. It was perfect. They have individual rooms, and they go to a dining room. It is perfect for my mother-in-law. They have a bedroom, a bathroom, a large closet, a refrigerator, and a microwave if they need it. It is adequate, and it is perfect for my mother-in-law. It is not really expensive. I have dined there, and it is adequate, but I don't want to eat there too often. It is assisted living food. It is a lovely place for my mother-in-law, and it's perfect.

This is a nice, well maintained home. They are licensed for 5 residents. They do only assisted and memory care. The rooms are private and semi-private with shared restrooms. All are handicapped equipped. They do not have a nurse on staff. They have licensed caregivers. The doctors do not come in. They do not transport any longer due to new policies through the insurance. The house is nice inside and clean. They have a large fenced in backyard with greenery. They have home cooking and serve 3 meals a day and snacks. There is little variety as they go off a rotating menu. They cannot do difficult diets. Food is alright. They do have in house activities but do not transport to outings. Families are responsible for this. In my opinion. they do not have enough stimulating activities. The food is mediocre. The owner did not seem enthused or forthcoming with information and I was not impressed with the atmosphere of the home.

My brothers and sisters put my father in this facility about a year ago. So far I am very satisfied with the level of care my father has received. There is always multiple staff members attending the needs of the patients. I have received no complaints from my father. He loves the facility and says that the staff always give him prompt medical attention and they make sure he is entertained and happy. From what I have seen from my visits to the facility it is clean and well maintained. The staff have never been rude to me and always courteous. My family feels the same as me about they facility. We would recommend to anyone looking for a place their loved ones can spend the end of their lives safe and happy.
