I went to Avista Sun City West. I loved it, I thought it was very nice. They have different communities set up, so as a person progresses in their Alzheimer's, they can move them into another community to meet their needs. And I like that idea, I thought it was very good. I liked it a lot. They were wonderful. The staff was great, and it had a very pleasant setting. That was very close to me. I could walk there if I had to see my husband. I loved that it's set in a community of homes, so you feel like you're part of the community. I think they said there was someone who had COVID and they were in lockdown, so we were only able to go view a room that would look like the room my husband would be in. And they took us to the dining room, the kitchen area, and the congregational area. It had a fireplace and a TV, and everybody was cozied up there with their blankets. I want to sit down and snuggle in with them. It felt so relaxing and peaceful. I was very impressed with them. The few people we interacted with were cheerful, they seemed professional, but very real, not phony, and very nice people.

I went to Avista Sun City West. It was a very nice facility, the staff was very helpful, but the room was empty. Nothing was going on when I was there. There was a big, open area, a nice eating area, the rooms were set up like hallways with hospital rooms on the other side.

My husband has been in Avista Sun City West for a week now. So far, so good. I'm not able to go in there, but I did a window visit with him. They keep me informed about everything that's going on, so I'm very happy. I don't really know the staff yet. The only contact I've had has been really good. I can't go into his apartment. He has a room there, but the window visit went fine. He seemed to like the food when I talked to him. I would say it's OK, but I've never seen any of the meals.

My husband moved into Avista Sun City West last end of May. It's a very fine community, very clean with no nasty odors, and so I have no complaints. They have activities, but everything is at a slow pace because of the coronavirus. Before he got there, I went to visit, and the facilities were nice and clean, and up to what I would prefer for myself. I found the staff very caring and dedicated to their work. They told me they weren't allowed to take gratuity, and work out of love.
