My husband was in rehab at The Terraces of Phoenix for ten days. It's senior living, they have memory care, they have apartments for assisted living, and then they have skilled rehab. They really have everything there. The nurses were very kind, and his needs were met. The meals were good, but they weren't hot because they're remodeling and had to bring the food in from another dining room. We were happy with it for rehab.

My whole family went and had lunch at The Terraces. We were there for five hours. The food was OK, but my mom was kind of picky. I liked it because it was close to me and upscale.

The staff was very accommodating. I could rate the Terraces Assisted Living 8+ in every category. We were looking at a two-bedroom, two-bath, living room, dining area, nice kitchen, and balcony, very spacious. The bathrooms were very big, and there was lots of closet space and storage. The food was really good, and they had an excellent choice. We were interested in the the fitness center; they had a lot of great equipment and a lot of stuff in that area. They do take trips to places, musicals, and outside venues. They also have trips that are offered for you to go to outside restaurants. They have a nice library, great swimming pool area, and the grounds were very pretty. They have a gardening club, and they have an area set up for people that like to garden. I thought it looked like it was excellent, and security people were on watch all the time.

The Terraces is a great facility to visit, it is clean and just has a very warm and welcoming feeling about the place. The care team is great, they always greet me with a friendly smile. The staff all seem very up to speed on things happening around the facility. I love the architecture of the building, it looks like a Spanish villa, the grounds are beautiful with many flowers and shaded sitting areas. The residents are able to get outside and take in the fresh air and beauty, there are gardens that the residents love taking care of. They also hold some fun activities outside during the cooler months. So many of the residents love to be outdoors and I am glad this facility offers them a safe and spacious area outside to explore. I am not sure if this is accurate as I usually do not get involved in the costs and fees of senior care, but I have had a few residents and family members tell me that they were charged extra fees only after they had gotten themselves or their loved ones were completely moved in. If this is true, I think there may be some ethical issues going on there. However, my main focus is always on the residents, and from what I can see, they are exceptionally cared for. They are always seem to have healthy appetites, they are always bathed, and wearing clean clothes. My only major complaint are all the insects, which while expected because of the location being in the desert and so close to the mountains, I have seen so many scorpions and spider. I know that they are regularly spraying for bugs and while I haven't seen any inside the facility, I have seen a ton outside. A scorpion's sting can be very dangerous for the elderly, so that worries me. Inside of the facility is just lovely, the design is very open and bright. I have noticed that it's very easy for those residents with wheelchairs to move about. The facility is very resident-friendly with many safety features and everything is easily accessible. The activities offered are all very creative and they are always changing so the residents don't become stuck in a routine. The staff do their best to keep the residents excited about staying active and busy by coming up with fun things for them to do. I have watched several of the activities taking place over the course of my visits, and the residents always appear to be having a blast. Dining at The Terraces reminds me of dining out, there are so many menu options to choose from and the food tastes so great. The staff try to teach the residents about healthy foods and eating habits, and they sometimes offer little classes that teach the residents more about nutrition and things. They let the residents experiment with many different types of new foods and they try to introduce them to new dishes. They also do Grill Events where once or twice a month they will take the residents to fine dining venues off campus in order to change things up a bit and keep the residents excited about food. The residents get to get dressed up and experience the world of 5-star dining. I have had many of the residents who go on these dining trips tell me that the food at home is so much better, and there is more to choose from. I think it's pretty great when a resident chooses the food at an assisted living facility over 5-Star restaurant. I really enjoy my visits to this facility, when I see how great the residents are cared for, it makes things like the insects seem not as critical. The Terraces seems to me to offer the residents a safe, friendly, and stable place to call home. It is my recommendation that care givers and their loved ones take a tour of the facility and see for themselves if it is right for them.

The Terraces has become one of my favorite retirement communities to visit. Having undergone major renovations, over the past five years, it is a beautiful, modern facility, with all levels of care and an attentive staff. The atmosphere is upscale, yet very comfortable, and welcoming to visitors. Residents are friendly with one another, and they speak very highly of the staff.

I have visited clients there for over 6 years now and my clients are very happy to be there. What still surprises me is the fact that the entire staff blends in and treats everyone like a neighbor.
