Good Samaritan was clean, well-lit, and it didn't smell. The people there were very knowledgeable about what they were doing and how they were handling the situation with each individual patient. The staff was very knowledgeable and pointed us in the right direction. It's right next to the Lutheran church.

I was at Good Samaritan Society for 13 weeks when I had my stroke. I appreciated that fact that I got very good therapy. The time that I was there they had an excellent chef and the meals were very good. The staff were very pleasant and I found out that they were very willing to work with the residents. I rarely smelled anything while I was there. The social worker has all kinds of activities planned. They do crafts and play bingo. I feel that they really try to meet the needs of those who wanted to get involved.

Good Samaritan Society is  a descent nursing home. I would recommend it to specific group of people. When I was there in 2011, I noticed that the Good Shepard was very clean and odorless. At the staff was very pleasant and tentative to the residents. Indidnt see to much social interaction for it to be a nursing home. This facility is good for individuals who need rehab and going to stay short term. The facility is an older facility so do keep that in mind. Out of five stars, I would rank the grounds a three the common areas a three the residents' rooms a two the staff a Three  and the quality of care a three. Overall, I'd give Good Shepard Society a rating of three stars because the facility is older and needs some renovations, also the staff was not very friendly when I needed supplies for the patient I was caring for.

Good Shepherd has assisted living facilities and a care center. The assisted living coordinators plan lots of activities for the residents, and there is a spirit of community there - -the residents seem to be good friends. The care facility seems a little sparse. There is effort to provide enjoyable entertainment for the very ill, and caregivers seem respectful, but it looks low-budget.
