La Siena is a great place to live. The staff is very friendly and quickly learns your name. Everyone strives to make sure you get what you need and are very attentive.

In general, I like La Siena. I like the location in particular. I was hoping the workout room would have heavier exercise equipment like at the YMCA or something like that, but I was overall impressed. We would like to have sampled the food there to get an idea about what the cuisine is, but we didn't have a chance to do that. They said that if we came back, we could arrange such a thing.
I was impressed with the facility, especially independent living would be my choice. The rooms were nice and they would be comfortable to live in. They each have balconies, some have good views, others none. I think there's cable TV as well as an internet connection.
Everyone seemed very friendly and informative. In general, I noticed that even the residents seemed to be friendly and it's a good environment. It's a full facility, so it had a bar, a library, meeting areas, and so forth. It's self-enclosed, so everything was accessible. From reading the literature they handed out, they have organized activities. I put my mother years ago in an assisted living place and I was impressed with that and this is comparable. The expense is one of the considerations. It requires a deposit of one month and it's not recoverable. That's a big given expense, but it's a nice place.
Jessie was the only one I talked to and he was cooperative and friendly. Our tour was at 11:00 in the morning and we were figuring maybe that would include lunch, not that we wanted to, but that would be an important factor to consider. We were disappointed that my ex-wife even asked for lunch and they said they couldn't do it that day. That was disappointing because that is a part of how you would evaluate a place. I think that was a mistake perhaps on their part.

My mother chose La Siena because she visited there. It's right in between where I live and my sister lives. It's probably a medium size place. It's very nice and very well laid out. They have independent living and assisted living in the same building. They actually have a set up where I think you can actually mingle with the independent living, and they all have the same dining room and all that. It's very comfortable and very quiet in the surroundings. They're on Northern Avenue, but they're back off the street quite a ways. You have a long driveway to get into it, so it's a quiet community.
It's more like an apartment complex. It was indoors, The entrances to the apartments are not outside; they're indoors. It's real homey. The staff was very warm and cordial. They were professional and friendly. What really helped us was the fact that they have a lot of long term employees, especially in their dining room areas. It's kind of unusual to find people that have worked in a community like that for over three years. Several of them have been there for two or three years. The gal we met in the elevator that works doing the rooms was there for almost three years. We were very impressed with the fact that their staff has been there long term.
The apartments are very nice. They always repaint and re-carpet whenever somebody new moves in. We gave them a deposit, and they had it ready for us. She's just not ready to move in yet. We're in the process, and she has to get assessed.
We had lunch there. The food was excellent. The dining area is big. They have it well set up for people. You have to have people that can get in and out with wheelchairs and stuff like that. They have it very well spaced. What we liked about this particular place was that the dining room is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can go any time during that period and eat a meal. Breakfast was served until 11 a.m., and then lunch served until 4 p.m. They had the same menu at dinnertime, but they had dinner specials added to it. It's great. They also have a coffee bar and tea bar that are open all the time. You can go and get coffee, tea, or lemonade.
Upkeep was excellent. It was always impeccable. They have gyms. They have libraries. They have a movie theater. They have a chapel. There are game rooms. The coffee area has stacks of newspapers and things like that. If you want to read the paper, you don't have to necessarily get one delivered. You can go down and just pick one there. Each day, the newspaper has crossword puzzles. What they do is they go through and they print them off. Then they put a stack out so everybody can have a crossword.
They were probably one of the more expensive and were higher end than the others. We just felt my mom deserved to have something like that.

I lived in independent living at La Siena. The food wasn't the greatest. They didn't have very many activities as where I'm living now. They don't have happy hours. The price was way too high and way out of line. The staff was pretty good.

La Siena was well taken care of. The food was excellent and high quality. The staff was very good and seemed to be attentive. The people seemed to be happy. The facilities were very good, and they had individual places for arts and crafts, swimming pool with activities, different clubs, a good movie theater, a nice chapel, a dancing area, major library, a pub, a computer area, educational programs, regular transportation to activities within Phoenix as well as to major stores, and etc. My wife loved it, but it was expensive. They had multiple elevators, wide halls, and the rooms were more like apartments than these typical living areas.

My parents are currently in La Siena. The room is very pretty, they have a nice, full kitchen, with stainless steel and granite, and they have washer and dryer in the room. The food is amazing, and they have a beautiful chef. They can park outside on the first floor.

Horrible management,
No dietician on staff and won't work with the person needing special dietary needs.

La Siena was a beautiful place and has a lot of amenities and a lot of assistance available when I needed it, so that was good. I would feel like I was living in a hotel. It's just a big building, but I would like more of an individual place. The rooms are lovely, and there are several different units and apartment arrangements to pick from. The food was wonderful, and they had a lovely dining room that was like a nice restaurant, with white tablecloths and it was just really nice, but the food was outstanding. You have immediate assistance when you need it since there are all kinds of buttons to push and cords to pull. They have a gym, an art room, and all kinds of activities. It was a lovely place.

I visited La Siena and thought it was very nice. I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to expend a lot of funds to get in there. They were a little more affordable. There were a lot of elderly people walking around during lunch and I felt like, "Whoa, geez, I don't see anybody here within five years of my age." I'm 72, but I'm very young for my age. However, it was very nice. I talked to the director who went through everything, was amiable, and knew everyone's names. I talked to some of the people who were happy.

At La Siena, the rooms were very small. The community was very attractive and very nice, but I felt like I was in a hotel. It didn’t have a homey feeling to me. I mean, it’s very lovely. They didn’t have a very good parking availability. They did have an outdoor pool. I thought it was very expensive for what they were offering. Like I said, the rooms were very small. The rental was well over $3000 a month for 700 to 900 square feet.

La Siena is great, and a really nice facility. The staff is very friendly, outgoing, and helpful. The 2-bedroom, 2 bath apartment is a pretty good size. The food is very good.

La Siena is great. They got all kind of stuff going on. They got treadmills and exercise rooms. They got trips to theaters, but I have not yet participated in it. As for the staff, the ones that I have talked to are great. I have no complaints about the neighborhood.

La Siena seemed to fit my father-in-law the best way. Their breakfast started earlier and he is an early person. Their meals lasted longer and it worked better that way for him. It's closer to all his kids; so location wise it's good. Compared to other facilities, they were in the middle and their prices were reasonable. The rooms are very clean and very nice. He does use a gym there and it seemed like it had adequate equipment. It's updated. They also have a theatre. The people there were nice.

This is a nice center only 3 years old. There are 190 apartments. The buildings are positioned like a w with the large courtyard in the center. The buildings and grounds are well maintained. They are situated next to a man made lake area.
They have suites, one and two bedroom apartments. All have a washer and dryer, full kitchens, dishwasher. and they provide cable. All are equipped as needed for handicapped and have an emergency system.
They offer housekeeping and assistance as needed.
They offer three meals and snacks a day in their nice restaurant style dining room and there is a variety of foods. The food is good.
They have a fitness room, movie theater, library, computer room. and pub. There is a beauty salon and spa.The courtyard has greenery, flowers, and walking paths, and sitting areas. They have a nice pool.
They have doctors close by and a nurse who comes in and on call. All caregivers are certified. The staff is very competent and friendly. They are very caring. They can get transport to appointments.
There is a world of activities from bingo, card games, movies, entertainment, celebrations and more. They are close to the botanical gardens, shopping, and many stores. They are always busy.
This is a great facility and staff.
