I'm in Bridgewater Assisted Living. It was my son that chose it for me. He researched on a lot of different ones and this is the one that was able to go all the way through financially. My room is nice, it's like a little 1-bedroom apartment, and I have a lot of extras. I have my room cleaned for me, the trash taken out, and the meals are cooked. I can decide if I want to go to the dining room or if I want to eat in my room. There are different activities during the week, and all of the workers are really nice. Right now, it's serving its purpose. They're very strict about Covid protocols like wearing our facemask and people who want to come in to the building have to sign in and have their temperatures taken. They're really high up on the safety thing with the Covid. They're doing the best they can with all the restrictions.

I was really impressed with BridgeWater Assisted Living Midtown, but my brother makes $300 too much to qualify. I liked the views that would allow them to go out and look over the valley. I like their ability to have open spaces where they could sit and occupy themselves. The staff was very caring. I like their rooms because they have the one-bedroom suites with a living area, plus a bedroom (which I think is very nice for them). Their bathrooms didn't have a step. It was one you can roll in, so there's no trip factor there.
BridgeWater just seemed very caring. It didn't seem like a nursing home, and it looked like some place where they would be comfortable. It didn't feel like my brother is being shuttled off to a nursing home (which is his worst fear - being institutionalized). He wouldn't be giving up everything, which is very important. The staff were great. They were very caring. They knew everybody's name. They asked how people were doing, and that was important because I see they know their residents.
Their rooms could be a little bit bigger, and their exercise area could have been a lot larger to facilitate more use of it. Their exercise area is for balancing and everything like that. It was just a closed-in room and very small. It didn't look inviting, and it didn't look like it would be some place you really want to go into. Their dining hall looked more like a restaurant. It looked like an inviting place to sit down and eat. The arts and crafts room was nice, sunny, and bright. It looked inviting, but they were a little bit on the small side; they wouldn't hold a lot of people. Unfortunately, it still had the clinical look to it.
