About This Community
Glassford Place, our senior living community, is homelike and cozy and provides our residents a close-knit family atmosphere. We develop individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident, and a full-time registered nurse is available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care. Our community welcomes pets and offers activities to help residents thrive in mind and body, such as bingo, church services, dominoes, arts and crafts, exercise classes, and live music. Our residents choose the destinations of outings, including shopping, restaurants, band concerts, and movies. Our residents deserve the best, and we work hard to offer them the highest standard of assisted living care.

My mother-in-law moved into Glassford Place. It is all contained in one building. They have a central courtyard, and it's pretty large. There are benches and grass, and you can have a pet. They have a nice dining area. They make sure the residents go out to the meals. They'll go and pick them up from their residence. The staff members were very interested in what my mother-in-law would like. They want to make sure they include her in the type of activities that she might like to do, or there would be something she would do alone.
The room was a good size for my mother-in-law. She's got a small kitchenette, a small dining table, and an area for her sofa chair and entertainment. Behind that is the actual bed place. It's sectioned off into specific areas and things you would do in that place. The staff was very nice and helpful. The facility was very nice, clean, and spacious. It's got a lot of live plants. It's very good for its value.

My tour of Glassford Place was very thorough and very good. They answered all my questions. The place was bright, clean, and very cheerful. They have lots of decorations up for spring Mother's Day. They have gardening, some people were working in the garden around the rose bushes. People were working with puzzles. The apartments were very clean and bright. The facility was well maintained. It's a smaller place with a very family feeling environment.

I like Glassford Place in that it was a smaller community with a nice staff who seems to have a good rapport with their patients. They have a nice courtyard to sit in with grass. The one-bedroom was a fine size. The smaller room wouldn't work for us. They have a media room where they do arts and crafts and watch movies. The location is small. They don't house a lot of people, and I liked that they don't have to go into memory care. Everything there, they could take care of the person till the end of life. The facility is nice. It's a lovely community for an active senior.

We toured Glassford Place, and it was a good pick for us because it's close to home. They are excellent. It's a small facility, so it's good for some people -- especially if you require a lot of care. They seem to be on top of everything. It was a very nice facility. The staff is excellent and awesome. They gave us lots of good information.
It was clean. They have a lot of activities for their residents. Everybody seemed quite happy. We saw a few people when we came in; they were playing a game. It was a much older, probably less active community at Glassford Place.

They were very friendly at Glassford Place. It was clean. The rooms were kind of small, but certainly clean. It was a smaller place. The studio was pretty small. We looked at the one with a bedroom. As far as activities they showed us the activities bulletin board, and they were just starting an activity when we left. I'm not sure what it was. They were sitting around listening to the activities director talking. As far as other facilities, they really didn't have any, except for like a group room or living room set up where a lot of people could gather, and they had the dining room. That's about it.

The Glassford Place was very nice. It's homey and all single floored. It only did assisted living, no independent living. It seemed to be okay. The people that lived there seemed to be pretty happy and comfortable. All the staff seemed pretty busy. Denise was good. The place was very clean; it seemed fine. I saw a studio and a 1-bedroom. They are certainly enough for a single individual. The location wasn't good for me. It was like a half hour away from me.

We had a very nice tour of Glassford Place. The lady who gave us the tour was very helpful. What I liked the most was it was small. It wasn't spread out over a couple of acres, and it didn't have four stories. It was more personal. It was very neat and clean, and the few tenants we saw seemed happy. The staff was very up front about answering all the questions that I asked, she was very pleasant, she didn't linger, and she didn't prolong. We didn't feel she's harassed or overworked. The place looked very nice and neat, and everything seemed well kept. She showed us all the views, and we loved the roses. Their center garden was just blooming. It was fantastic.

First of all I visited this facility earlier in the spring before the Covid outbreak, because i have a family member living here lets just say its not at all what i expected. The caregivers were very pleasant, very nice, polite, professional, but looked overtly worked. On the other hand the office staff was terrible. The nurse was unprofessional, lazy, and did not know what was going on with any of her residents care; including my family members. The executive director was always on vacation every time i needed to talk to him. I saw that on more than one occasion the sales lady was very snooty and demanding to the caregivers. The food was terrible I have never been someone to complain about food, but it was horrible. And when it came to cleaning the cleaning lady did not do her job properly and thoroughly. I would have to come in once a week and clean for my family member, because they would complain that their room has not been cleaned. This place has potential especially because they have really goodhearted caregivers that actually care about the residents. However, the office staff does not seem to acknowledge that there caregivers are struggling to provide the proper care because they are overtly worked.

My husband stayed at Glassford Place. There were quite a few activities, but most of them had to do with either religion or music. I ate there three times myself and the food was not good at all. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a small place, and there weren't very many residents. Most of them had more dementia than he did, and he didn't care for that at all. They wouldn't let him go out and walk around outside. They kept the doors locked. When you came in, you had to put in a code to get the door open, but they didn't give any codes to the residents, so he wasn't allowed to go out without me or one of the staff members letting him out. They had a big courtyard which was pretty, and they could go out there and sit down, but they couldn't go out and just walk around the building. The facility was always clean and there was a lot of light in there.

My sister is in Glassford Place and settling in very well. It's a nice size and completely a memory care facility. It's locked down on the outside with access to a courtyard in the middle, so my sister is able to go outside. The place is small enough that it's very personal, and not so big that my sister could get lost. They have a place for exercise, computer room, and TV room where they have movies. They do all their laundry for them if they want or they can do it themselves. There are a lot of interactive classes like singing and a lot of entertainment. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but sometimes when I go there, it's hard to find somebody. Other than that, they're really good. The food is a little bland but the really good thing about it is that if my sister doesn't like what they're serving, they're happy to make something else.

My brother-in-law was in Glassford for a month, but then he had to go into hospice. It was a nice place, the people were very good, and it was pretty clean. They were very attentive to him. They had 40 people there, and it was all one floor, which was kind of modern. His room was very comfortable and had a TV, and it was private.

I think Glassford Place was in the middle of reorganization, and they have recently been taken over by another company. My mother did not have the help she needed. They said they cannot do any more than they are doing. It was clean and did not have any bad smell. The dining room and the common areas were nice.
They had a cook who was very stubborn with my parents at first. They have a restricted diet and these people did not treat them very well. Their dietary needs were not taken care of until my mother made friends with the cook. They were trying to accommodate her, but they do not know what to do with the kind of food that she could eat. So that was a big disappointment. I have tried their food, and it was awful.
My mother could not use her computer when she was there. There was always something wrong with their internet system, and they do not have cable TV. She was unhappy there and was anxious to get out. I think they have to improve on their food and their level of care, or they should be lowering their rate.

My husband has been there for 4 months and the care has been loving and creative. The food is excellent and the staff calls everyone by their first name and tries to keep them busy. This is an assisted living home with those with Dementia and physical difficulties.

The facility was more "home-like" than an institution. The environment was very comfortable and homey. Their was not much in the way of organized activities apparent. However, the residents seemed to get more individual attention from staff members. A staff member between her duties assigned her, whenever she had a free minute or more - would spend the time conversing with a resident. She would encourage the resident to tell stories about her past and her experiences. there would be interest and attention paid by the staff member as if she truly enjoyed remenishing with the resident. They both had smiles on their faces. It was a pleasant relaxing atmosphere present throughout the place.
