Independent Living

Memory Care

In the Memory Care Neighborhood at Clarendale of Chandler, we understand that with a memory-impairing illness, what remains is far more important than what is lost. This is why we embrace and celebrate everything our residents do through our Heartfelt CONNECTIONS—A Memory Care Program®, an approach that offers people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias the care, respect, dignity, and quality of life loved ones want for them.

Our highly trained memory care staff dedicates each day to life-affirming activities, enriching the lives of residents. The goal is to promote physical and emotional well-being, prolong daily functioning, and maintain a sense of purpose, dignity, and quality of life.

Everything will be geared toward achieving the ideals of a healthy body, inspired mind, and awakened spirit. Residents have access to a trained caregiving staff 24 hours a day ready to provide respectful assistance with the necessities of daily life.

Clarendale of Chandler was amazing. The people were great. It was a beautiful facility. They were very welcoming and kind. They addressed all of my needs and questions. They were open and they seemed to care about what my parents needed at the time. They showed me the independent, the assisted, and the memory care. For independent living, you bring your own furniture, but the appliances are there, a washer, dryer, dishwasher, and microwave. You can bring things to make it home. The staff during the tour was professional, informative, and kindhearted. They offered the whole family to come back and have a meal, but the food looked delicious. They had a courtyard, an exercise facility, a movie room, and a craft room.

We toured Clarendale of Chandler. I really, really liked Tracy's professionalism. She was really thorough with me because I went down the list of what Caring.com suggests to use as checklists. She gave me everything I needed, and she showed me the one-bedroom unit, which was really nicely staged as a model. It was nice. It's nice because it's almost brand new. I think they started building it two years ago, and it's almost across the street from us, so I know it's brand new. Everything looked really nice, like the wide, spacious hallways and the dining room. They really excel in the types of activities they have. Once a month they have someone come in to test their hearing and get them fitted with hearing aids, which is a real good bonus. The room in comparison to what my mom got is like 100 square feet less space for about the same price. Interestingly, they won't let assisted living residents live on the first floor, they have to be up on the second or third floor. They had some independent living and memory care on the first floor. Their elevators are nice and big, but she got a thing about it. I saw their menus. I was there around 4:00 to 4:30, and everybody seemed really, really happy in the dining room. It looked like fine dining, and it smelled really good.

Although my parents had a rather short stay in assisted living (and an even shorter stay in memory care), my parents and I appreciated the interaction of staff, excellent food quality, and design and cleanliness of the premises. I understand that staff is encouraged to engage residents in order to foster open communication and a sense of well-being - this was the view of my parents and myself as well whenever I interacted with Clarendale employees. Clarendale's professionalism, courtesy, and care are the words I find most descriptive of my parents' stay.

Everyone is pleasant and helpful with any questions that my father and I have. All the residents we have met are friendly and everyone seems happy. That’s nice to see. They offer all kinds of things to do for the residents. It’s a beautiful place.

I visited Clarendale with my father in March 2021. We were very pleased with the room layouts and amenities. My dad is an Army Vet and was able to see Veterans enjoying breakfast in honor of their service. He was also very impressed with their “Honor Wall”. During our tour we were privileged to meet many of the staff and got to speak with them. We also got to talk with several residents that gave exceptional feedback and obviously enjoy Clarendale. Every staff member that we met were very friendly and we could tell that each one absolutely loved their jobs. We even got to meet the Chef and thoroughly enjoyed his food. Overall, we are very impressed and would highly recommend Clarendale.
