The Citadel is a senior living community in Mesa, AZ that provides the gamut of senior living options, from independent living apartments to nursing care. DAILY CARE

Overall a good place. Staff treated my mother well and took good care of her. Rooms were clean and seemed to be kept clean on a regular basis. Staff was friendly.

I liked it. The assisted living part was a newer building and everything looked more up-to-date and clean. It was big enough that the rooms were a little bit more spacious. She showed me their schedule of activities and they had just finished one while I was doing the tour. I saw the activity director who was nice and energetic. It seemed like they had a lot of fun doing a target practice even though I did not witness it, but I asked them if the family could come over and participate in activities with my mother in law, and they said yes, which I thought was nice because my kids would enjoy coming there and doing something fun like that with grandma.
They have a community salon, a chapel, and a swimming pool where they take the assisted residents out for swimming activities. The staff was all very nice and very hospitable too. They all said hello and greeted me. It was just a very welcoming experience. Everyone that I talked to, from the beautician to the marketing person that was giving me a tour was very nice. I even showed up an hour before my scheduled time and they were still very nice to me and accommodated me.

I toured here. I'm looking for assisted living, and they seemed a little bit more set up in that direction. Everything I saw there was five stars, the rooms, the personnel, and the facility. They seemed very helpful, and they gave me some information that I'm still following up on as far as financial assistance. I was there for an hour. They had activities ranging from games to movies to exercise. I found those to be quite adequate; I didn't see anything out of place.

My father arrived here at the end of October 2019. The rooms were clean and the right size for my dad. The interactions with the staff was excellent. Dad liked to go the the dining facility and socialize and liked the music provided. The community offers many activities that many appear to enjoy. The first staff members we met with were Jordan and Shana. Jordan was helpful and showed us around. From the start we knew dad would be happy here. Shana was also helpful and they both made a great team. I cannot go any further without thanking members of the team such as the care Teca gave dad to the friendliness of Nate. There were others in the staff that took great care of dad and I appreciate that care and love that was shown to my dad. Dad loved the names the staff called him. Pops, Papa, and Dad. He loved it. I cannot forget the staff in the dining area. They showed patience and love for dad. Dad told me how he loved it it there. If I did not name you by name, it is because there were so many of you that loved and cared for my dad. I can't express the care and compassion that was given to my dad in his final days. Our family thanks you and appreciates the diffuclt task you face each day while keeping a smile and a positive attitude and never making us feel like we were a burden. In fact you made us feel like family. Thank you.

I liked it. It was clean, very nice, and friendly. The gentleman who took us on the tour was very knowledgeable, nice, and gave us a lot of ideas. The rooms were clean and small, but then most of the rooms in these areas are small. There was a library, a small gym area, and a pool.

It was very nice. Everyone was very professional and on time. I had a really good tour of the community and got a great explanation of the amenities. There were two different rooms. They were doing a good job. They had a dining area, workout facility, garden outdoor area, and activities like Bingo and cards. It looked like they had a good offering of food.

My sister is going here and her husband is already there. They're reasonable, and the rooms are great. She is going to be in a one-bedroom. It is spacious, good, and exactly what we were looking for. They have a van that takes them to the bank and the store. They have aerobics, craft classes, pizza nights, barbecue nights, and a lot of activities. They're very open to taking her and have been very friendly.

It has a lot to offer for all ages, and that impressed me. The staff that assisted me was wonderful. She was very informative and friendly. She even called us back the next day. At that time, everybody was busy with games in the game room. There were lots of activities.

We liked it. It’s a very nice place but farther away than my mom wanted to live. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. They offer a lot of activities for the residents. I would rate them highly.

My mom is here. Our impression is very good. She has moved from independent living to assisted living. She has a studio, and it is spacious. The dining room has a clubhouse feel to it. They have something to do every hour of the day like bingo, exercising, and fieldtrips. It is very safe and secure.

We were able to visit and this facility is very nice. I think everything is very nice because I don’t remember anything that was negative about it. I can see that there's quite a few activities going on there.

It was nice but they only had a third floor apartment available and no washer and dryer in the apartment. The people seemed pretty good. The rooms, the size of the apartments and the location were very nice. They could just add a washer and dryer into their apartment so that the residents don't have so far to go to do their laundry.

My husband's great aunt used to live here. She had her own apartment, and it was clean and organized. She was pretty happy during her stay there.
